PRESENT: Brazil, Jepsen, Langwill, Rosasco ABSENT: Williams Chairman Brazil called the meeting to order at 9:00 P.M. Clerk Bachman stated that there were no cases to be currently considered. He indicated that at the present time there were seven cases involving zoning in the hands of the Santa Clara County Planning Department for technical work and that these would be considered by the Saratoga Planning Commission in the near f~ture. Commissioner La~ill moved for adjournment at 9:05P-M- Unanimously carried. CITY PLANNING COMMISSION OF SARATOGA Chairman Brazil opened the Planning Commission meetin~ at 9:00 P.M. 12/20/56 PRESENT: Brazil, Jepsen, Langwill'~ Rosasco, Willlama ABSENT: None Chairman Brazil stated that the booklet "A General Plan for Saratoga" was a "cause celebre" in the city. He wished to express his appreciation to the County Planning Department for the excellent Job they have done. At the same time, he pointed out, iC should be made clear that the booklet does not represent a master plan. It is a proposal upon the basis of which a plan can be developed. It is a "think piece" - a "tickler" for the imagination to start people thinking and talking. The Council's biggest interest currently is to 3'et people talking about this booklet. VARIANCE - V3 The application of Robert C. Waltera for a variance Robert C. Walters involving Lot #7, Tract No. 1766 "Happy Valley" Unit No. i was considered. The County Planning Department had reported favorably on the matter which involved a rear yard setback reduction from 25 feet to 14 feet. None of the residents living within 300' who had been nroperly notified appeared to protest. Member John Langwill moved to grant the variance. Unanimously carried. There being no other business, Cheirman Brazil adjourned the meeting at 9:10 P.M.
