Commissioner Anderson moved that Commissioner Be~_nett act as Chair-
man Pro Tem. Comn~issioner Crisp seconded. Carried unanimously.

B. MINUTES
Commissioner Glenn moved that the minutes be approved as
amended. Co..m_missioner Anderson seconded. Carried unanimously.

Stern The Secretary gave a resume of the application.
Paul Meyers Jr., representing the applicant, spoke in favor
of the change of zoning.
Chairman Bennett closed the Public Hearing at 7:07 P.M.
Chairman Bennett ordered the matter continued to the next
regular meeting and asked for a report from 'the Subdivision
Committee pertaining to site design review, and the ~.rchi-
tectural and Site Control Connmittee at that time.

1. Ordinance 25-A 7:09 P.M.

The .~ecretary read the Ordinance amending Ordinance 25 to
provide Architectural and Site Control on all property in
C S zoning districts.
No one spoke from the audience.
Chairman Bennett closed the I>ablic Hearir~ at 7:ll P.M.
Commissioner Crisp moved that the Secretary be directed to
transmit Ordinance 25 A to the City Council with a recom-
mendation for adoption. Commissioner Anderson seconded.

S. J. W.W.Norman Andrews, representing the app].icant, stated conditions
are satisfactory.
Commissioner Anderson moved for apliroval of L~-20 subject to
the 6 conditions listed in the Co~ittee Report. Commissioner
Crisp seconded. Carried unanimously.
Commissioner Bennett introduced I~r. Greene~ new Zoning Administrato~
to the Commissioners and to the audience.

Raylite Commissioner Bern~ett gave the Architectural and Site Control
Neon Committee Report regarding a conference v~ith the owner and
developer of the Quite Shopping Center, and announced an agree-
ment with I~. Renzel to ~dopt a uniform sign system for the
Center.
Commissioner Bemnett moved that ~-26 be denied. Commissioner
Glenn seconded. Carried unanimously.
C. Planning Consultant Contract
Planning
Consultant Commissioner Anderson gave the report of the Subdivision Com-
Contract mittee dated Ju].y 18, 1960.
Commissioner And~rson moved that the new contract be trans-
mitted to the City Council with a recor~endation for approval.
Commissioner Glenn seconded. Carried unanimously.

Gaspar The Secretary stated that a letter is in the file granting
a 30 day extension for action.
Chairman Bemnett ordered SD-206 continued to the next reg-
ular meeting.
2. SDR-212 - Sorensen & Dumas
SDR-212
Sorensen Commissioner Anderson stated that the Health Dept. was still
& Dumas p~ocessing th~ applica'bion.
Chairman Bennett ordered SDR-212 continued to the next reg-
ular meeting.
3. SD-215 - O~hinero.& PoEta
SD-215
Ochinero Commissioner Anderson stated that a :neering had been held
&Porta with the applicant, the Committee, the City Engineer, and
Mr~ Huff, and that a new design was to be submitted. There
is a letter in the file granting a 30 day extension.
Chairman Bennett ordered SD-215 conbinued to the next reg-
ular meeting.
4. SD-216 - Clay Development Compan~

Clay Commissioner Anderson read the Subdivision Committee Report
Development dated July 26, 1960. He referred to the map regarding
Company Condition No. 25 anl ~he desirability of retaining trees
in the Cul-de-sac right-of-way.

Mossman Commissioner Anderson read The Subdivision Committee report
dated July 22, 1960.
Shelley Willions represented the applicant stating that
all of the conditions were satisfactory.
Commissioner Crisp moved that SDR-217 be granted subject to
the 8 conditions listed on the Committee Report. Commis-
sioner Glenn seconded. Carried unanimously.
6. SDR-218 - San Jose ~fater Works

dated July 22 1960.
Norman Androws, representing the applicant, stated that
Condition No. 4 was satisfactory if it ~.~as for the time
of construction only.
CoFiuissioner Anderson moved that SDR-218 be approved subject
to the 6 conditions listed on the Committee Report. Com-
missioner Crisp seconded, specifying that Architectural
and Site Control Permit be required. Carried unanimously.
V OLD BUSINESS

Lyngso The Secretary read a letter from the manager of the Saratoga
Branch of Lyngso Gs~'den Materials asking for roconsideration
of sign permit.
Commissioner Glenn mcv~d that A-23 be reopened. Commissioner
Crisp seconded. Carried unanimously.
The Secretary reviewed the file. Permit for Bins granted.

P~. Valtergo: representing the ~ppl~cant~ asked for clarifica-
tion of design desired.
Commissioner Crisp moved that the Architectural and Site Control
Committee meet with the applicant and report at the next reg-

2. SDR-157 - Joe. ~f. Stevons
SDR-157
Stcvens Commissioner Anderson gave the background of SDR-137, expiring
July 27, 1960.
Commissioner Cris? moved that e~tension of SDR-iD7 be denied.
Commissioner Glenn seconded. Carried unanimously.
3- Zoning Ordinance

Ord. The Secretary gave a resume of the material to be included in
the Zoning Ordinance~ stating that a report had boon previously
sent to the P~ am~ n~ Consultant on Off-Street-Parking Ordinance.
Chairman Bennett requested that all t~laD2~ing Conmission.re
submit a report on the I-reposed Sign Ordinance at the second
meeting in ~ougust including information on the following:
1. Subdivision Signs - review of the present Ordinance.
2. Include Commercial and Business Signs of all types.
3. No bill boards.
~. Directional Signs and Signs in Residential areas.
~ All other Signs.

Chairman Bemnett directed the Secretary to inform the Plan-
ning Consultant of the views of the Commissioners and the
forthcoming reports.

1. Cupertino Union School District Re: Pu~.il Ascessibility
Titus Avenue Site
The Secretary read a letter from the Cupertino School
District dated July 8, 1960.
Commissioner Anderson stated that the Subdivision ConLmittee
was aware of the problem of access to schools and had made
suitable access a condition of School Building Site Approv-
al.
Chairman Bennett ordered the letter filed for reference.
