B. MINUTES
Commissioner Bennett moved that the minutes be approved as
prepared and distributed. Commissioner Glenn seconded. Car-
ried unanimously.
II PUBLIC HEARINGS
A. CHANGE OF ZONING
1. C-30 - F~s. R. S. Stiles 7:00 P.M.

Stiles The Commissioners discussed Off-Street Parking, time need-
ed to develop the property, maximum number of units, com-
mercial possibilities and proximity to, or inclusion in,
the Village Development Plan with Mrs. Stiles.
.No one else spoke from the audience. Chairman Webster
closed the Public Hearing at 7:16 P.M.
Commissioner Gle~ moved that the Planning Commission rec-
ommend to the City Council the adoption of a change of
~one from Rl:B2 to R~-H for the property described in
application C-30. Commissioner Crisp seconded. The fol-
dswing roll call vote was recorded:
Ayes: Anderson, Bennett, Crisp, Glenn, Parden, Webster
Noes: None
· - Absent: Highins
Motion Carried to transmit recommendation to the City
Council.
B. VARIANCE
1. V-179 - Bissell - 7:19 P.M.
Bissell The Secretary read notes of approval of the Variance from
P.M. Pile and Prentice and Edith Andrews.
Dr. Bissell; Mr. Kocher, Architect for the applicant and
A. L. Fletcher spoke in favor of the variance.
Commissioner Parden gave the Variance Committee Report,
stating that a Contour map and exact house plans would
be needed before a decision could be reached.
Chairman Webster ordered the Public Hearing continued to
the next regular meeting and requested that the stated
items be submitted to the City Office.

to the 8 conditions listed on the Subdivision Committee ?

SDR-232 Commissioner Andessea Stated that ~here was a letter in the
Kirkwood file with a request, by the applicant, for withdrawal of
SDR-232, statine that he will refile a tentative map for
subdivision of this piece of.~rep~ty.
Commissioner Pardsn moved that the applicants request for
withdrawal of SDR-232 be granted. Commissioner Crisp sec-
onded. Carried unanimously.
Commissioner Glean moved that the Planning Commission reC-
ommend to the City Council that the filing fee paid for
SDR-232 be applied on subdivision filing fees for the same
property. Commissioner Parden seconded. Carried unani-
mously.

Chairman Webster told the applicant that he should try ~o

Commissioner Anderson moved that SDR-236 be approved sub-

Brown & T~e City Admix~istrat~r stated ~ha~: the City Council had referred
Kauffman C-29 back to the Plaxn~ing Commission for clarification of the
proposei zone fo~ the property in the ~pl~cation. He gave'
the present status and past acbion on the establis],ment of
12,500 minimum lot size zoniug classification.
Commissione~ Crisp stated that a blanket B2 or 12,500 for com-
plete petreel unsatisfactory, since B2 zoning for entire sur-
roundin5 area does no~ comply with s~ated future development
of area, and 12~500 sq. ft. in a~'ea along freeway is not rea-
listic.
ChairmaD Webster directed ~he Subdivision.. Committee to make a
study of the prcblem and to submit a report and recommendation
to the Commission st the next meeting.

Lewis The City Administrator stated. that Mr. Paul Swam~on has agreed
that, ~f the Planning Corm~ssion ~ill co~mlt itself to accept
a plan showing 150 foo~- width from the front property line a
distance of 44 feet to the rear, he would let Dr. Le~is have
the extra property.
Commissioner Pardon moved to reinstate the application for
SDR-2D7~ and to confi~m that the Site Design condition meets
the approval of the Plarming Commission with the lots dimen-
sions shown ou E2chibi'c "A" "150 feet front width carried back
~:~ feet". The other Building Site Conditiox~s to be prescribed.

Village Mrs. Kraule asked about the progress being made on t~e Village
Develop- Development Plan.
ment PlanThe City Administrator stated that the"Report"cf the various
costs in~olved would be available within the next 50 dears,
and that a meeting would be held to discuss the "Plan".
Chairman Webster adjourned the meeting to Monday, October ~, 1960
at 7:00 P.M.

Commissioner Anderson gave the report of the Subdivision Com-
mittee on the application for change of zoning C-29.
Mr. Brown discussed the development of the proparty with the
Commissioners.
Commissioner Anderson moved that Resolution C-29-1 recommending
that Exhibit "A~' "Proposed Amendment" be adopted as a recommen-
dation to the City Council for the change of zoning from "A" to
Rl:B2 for the property described in the application. Commission-
er Crisp seconded. The following roll call vote was recorded:
Ayes: Anderson, Bennett, Crisp, Glenn, Higgins, Webster
Noes: None
Absent: Parden
The Motion was unanimously carried to transmit the recommendation
to the City Oouncil.
SDR-233 Linton Real
The City Administrator stated that the City Attorney had clari-
fied the status of Mt. Eden Estates; the sale of over one acre
parcels being legal after tentative approval granted a subdivi-
sion map. He suggested that the Planning Commission reopen
SDR-23~ for reconsideration for tentative building site approval.
Commissioner Highins moved that SDR-23~ be reconsidered for
tentative building site approval. Commis.;ioner Glenn seconded.
Carried unanimously.
Chairman Webster adjourned the meeting at 7:35 P.M.
