A. SD- 288 - Cartie and Associates - Con't Associates, again requested that action on this application be post- poned until the meeting on June 26, 1961. On the basis of the requests fromMr. Cartie and Mr. MacKay, Chairman Webster ordered this matter continued until the n~ct regular meeting. B. SDR-290 - Don Warfie__ld, Sobey Rnad - Building Site Approval - The Secretary reported that the Staff had received a telephone call fromMrs. Warfield advising that the owner had decided not to sell and that they were no longer interested in this application. Neither Mr. nor Mrs. Warfield ~as present. There woe a motion by Co..~,,.issioner Bennett, seconded by Conmissioner Higgins, that this application (SDR-290) be denied. Roll call vote: Ayes: Commissioners Anderson, Bennett, tliggins, Johnson and Webster. Noes: C~issioners Crisp and Glenn. Absent: None. Motion carried. C. SDR-291 - EaJl J. Peter, Bonnie Brae Way - Building Site Approval - The Secretary advised that conditions of tentative approval had been established for this application. Mr. Peter was present and advised that the conditions wore satisfactory. There was a motion by Commis- sioner Anderson, seconded by Commissioner Crisp, that SDR-291 be given tentative approval subject to the eight (8) conditions con- rained in the Building Site Coewnlttee Report dated June 8, 1961; motion carried. Chairman Webster declared a recess at 8:15 P. M. The meeting ~ras called to order again at 8:30 P, M. IV, ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN REVIE~ A. A-55 - Saratoga Post Office - Architectural Approval - Connnissioner Higgins reported that the Special Architectural Co~nmittee had met with representatives of the Post Office Department and that revisndplauswould be submitted. Mr. Whalenwos present and advised that he had no further information as to ~hen the revised plans would be ready. Chairman Webster ordered this matter continued until the meeting on June 26, 1961. B, A-56 - Tidewater Oil Company, Bi~ Basin Way and Saratoga-Los Catos Road - Architectural Approval - Free Standing Steel Canopy ever Pump Islands - Co~,-~ssioner Hlggins advised that his Co~ittee met with representa- tives o~ the applicant and suggested more rustic treatment, details 3 Pla~mtn~ Ccm~ission Minutes - June 12~ 1961 - Con't IV. B. A-56 - Tidewater. Oil Company - Con't of which the applicant was workin~ on at that time. Chairman Webster ordered A-56 continued to the meetinS on June 12, 1961, pendins further cu.~.unication from the applicant. C. A-59 - Argonaut Medical Center - Architectural Approval - After discussion, there was a motion by C~ua.tsstoner Bennett, seconded by Co~nissioner Glenn, that the three (3) drawings entitled Exhibits A, B and C be given preliminary approval subject to cempliancewith all existin~ ordinances; motion carried u~a~4m-~sly. A motion was made by Commissioner Crisp, seconded by co~ntsstoner Anderson, that this prelimixh~ry approval be further conditioned by requiring that complete landscape plans be submitted for approval in connection%rith the workin~ dra~,-l~Ss; motion carried unant~nusly. Commissioner HigginS abstained from takin~ part and votir4] in the m~tter of A-59. Chairman Webster directed that the Secretary of the Co.~ission counnunicate with the developers and request prompt compliance with previous conditions (established in connection with A-54) reEardin8 parking. V. OLD BUSINESS A, SD-30 - ~t. Eden Estates - Assessment District the Secretary advised that the City Council had requested thaC the Plannin~ Connnission m~ke a recummendation reEardin~ the t~pe road to be required under this Assessment District. He further advised that the Subdivision Couunlttee had studied the situation and prepared a report in connection with this matter. After discussion there was a motion by Connnissioner Higgins, seconded by Commissioner Johnson, that the Subdivision Co-~.tttee Report dated June 12, 1961, concernin~Mt. Eden Estates Assessment District (SD-30), be approved and transmitted to the City Council as the reconnnendation of the Plannin~ Co~=.tssion; motion carried unanimously. B. C-34 - _Wm. and Walter Sea~raves~ Saratoga Avenue - Chan~e of ZoninE - Commissioner Anderson suS~ested that this matter be continued until the meetin~ on June 26, 1961, since the Joint meetin~ of the Plannin~ Cu,-,,,tssion and City Council in connection with this application was not scheduled until June 15, 1961. On the basis of this suS8estion, Chairman Webster ordered this matter continued until the meetinS on June 26, 1961. At this time Chairman Webster welcomed Councilman Glennon to the meeting. 4 VI. PETITIONS AND GRIEVANCES A. SDR-198 - _Jos_~hB.o. nacinoI SobsV Roa.d_ - Request for Extension of Tentative Building Site Approval - There was a motion by Co~issioner Anderson, seconded by Crisp, that the request for extension of this tentative Buildin~ Site Approval (SDR-198) be denied on the basis that it mould be establishin~ a precedent inasmuch as the tentative approval had already expired. Roll call vote: Ayes: C~u~alssioners Anderson, Bennett, Crisp, Glenn, Johnson and Webster. Noes: Co.-..~issioner Highins. Motion carried. B. SDR-230 - Norma. n and Patr.ic. ia RoepernikI Via Re~ina - Request for Elimination of Condition ~8 of Tentative Building Site Ap- proval granted g-22-60 and Final Approval granted 1-18-61 - Mr. Koepernik was presen= and gave the Con~nission further details re- garding this request for elimination of Condi=ion ~8. Commissioner Anderson read a report from the Building Site Committee reccamnendtng that this request be denied. A motion was made by Comaissioner Bennett and seconded by Co~issioner Hl~ins that the Building Site Co=mittee Report dated June 12s 1961, be approved; motion carried unanimously.
