The meeting was called to order by Chair~nn Webster at 7:03 P.

There was a not~on by Connisstouer Johnsons seconded by Conn~ssioner
that the readin~ of the re, mutes of the meeting of Nay 14, 1962s ~e waived
and that the minutes be npproved as prepared and submitted to the Commis-
sion; motion csxr~ed unanimously,
PUBLIC HEARINGS
A, General Plan - Revision - Continued from April 23~ 1962
The report of the General Plan Committee ~as read by Coca~issioner Crisp,
JOBN MCDOWELL, represen~tn8 David Lull, requested that Chafe be no change
on the General Plan Nap ~n connection with the Lull property in the area
of the Saratoga Nursery° He stated that ~t ~as felt chat ~hultt-fnmily"
was the best use of the property, especially in vtex~ of the nursery use
on the front portion of the property, MBSo WILEY~ ~ho resides on this
property, stated that she, ~oo, felt this was the best poss~ble use of
the property,
FRANK CHESNOS ~nquired w~th regard to a second access to the Azule Subdi-
vision and was advised by the Cornission that a report regarding this mat-
ter ~as forthcoming.
Since no one else v~Lshed co comment Vlth regard to this matter, there ~as
a motion by Connissioncr Glenn, seconded by Corn{sstoner Crisp, that the
public hearin8 in connection with revision of the Ceneral Plan be closed;

With the recouaendnt~ons contained therein be prepared for the si&mature
~£ the Chairnan of the Couuissiou and transu/ttsd to the City Council for
further action. Roll call vote: Ayes: Co~3issiouers Anderson, Crisp,
Glenn, Johnson and Webster. Noes: Comuissionar Covley. Motion carried.
There Was auotion by Comissioner Cowley, aecond~d by Co~=assione~ Crisp,

Cuuuissioner Crisp read a further report frou the General Plan Connittee
pertainJut to a second access to the Azule Subdivision.
FRANK C~ESNOS advised that there was an~r~ent need for ~he'ex~ension of
Ted Avenue to the proposed Ira Kirkcries Subdivision (SD~268). Counis-
Siouer Anderson stated that this was the cricks-1 plan but it had been
Unsuccessful because of ~he lack of cooperntion of one of the property
o~rs. Mr. thesacs advised that he had talknd to Ull of the property
owners involved and was authorized to offer their ~ull cooperation and
any land needed, at no cost ta the city, for the extension of Ted Avenue
to the proposed Ira Kirkcries Subdivision. On ~he basis of this infornm-
tion, the Cor=~ssion suaaested a ncetin~ between the Subdivision Cou~lttee,
~Ir. Chesnos, 14~o Galeb and Mr. Kirkcries. Mr. Chesnos agreed to this
neetinS.
It was the consensus of the Couuission ~hat, poedin8 this nesting, no
action should be rzka~ in conm~ction with the General Plan Coranit~ee Re-
port retardinS this eattot. Chairnan Webster directed the report filed
for record with uo action until reactivated by the Cor~ission.

CoEnissioner Crisp advised that the Variance Connittee felt a physical
hardship existed because of the easeneat runnin8 diagonally across this
lot.

uatter, Comissionor Glenn riored, seconded by Comissioner Johnson, that
the public hearin0 on V-215 be closed; notion carried unanimously and
public henzing was closed at 9:00 ~. M,
There was a notion by CcEnissioner Crisp, seconded by Comissioner Johnson,
that this Variance OF-215) be granted to eppro~e a 15 foot front yard set-
back in lieu of the required 25 foot front yard setback on the basis that
there was a definite phys~.cal hardship involved; notion carried unan~uously.
SUBDIVISIONS AND BUILDING BITES

Ray Anderson and Werner Stem were p=esent to represent the ep~licant and
expressed satisfaction with the p~oposed ~onditions of approval°
There was a notion by Comissioner Audersons seconded by Comissionar
Crisp~ that ~he tentative nap for SDR-343 (Exhibit A-2, filed May 11~ 1962)
be approved subject to the 16 conditions contained in the BuildinO Site
Comittee Report of May 28, 1962, conditions ~6 nnd {[9 of which have been
modified; notion carried unan~nnusly.
B. SDR-351 - Kenneth Iwagaki~ Qu~to Road - Buildin8 Site Approval - 3 Lots
Continued from Dhy 14, 1962
The applicant was present and expressed seticfaction with the proposed
conditions of approval.
The Secretary read a letter from the Director of Public Works pertaiu~n8
to the si0ht distance end safety factor of the entrance to these build~n8
sites. He also reported that the City Engineer concurred with the report
of the Director of Public Works.
A supplementary petition with 35 siSmatures protestin8 the use of East
Mande Avenue in connection with these building sites was filed with the
Secretary. Mro tx~a~aki submitted a rebuttal to the charges in the peti-
tion filed at the previous meet~n0, which was read by the Secretary.
0. K. FRBYSCBLAG and MRS. 0. K. FREYSCBLA~, qu~to Road, HARRY J.
Oriole Way, JAMES RAWLINS, Quite Road, and J. R. SWEET, Mande Avenue,
protested the use of Bast Maude Avenue as access to these building sites.
With the help of n laree dres.~ng showing the proposed entrance to these
building cites. the Couuission explained the provisions propoead for ade-
quete sight distance.
