It was moved by Commissioner Crisp and seconded by Commissioner
... McFall that UP-63, application of Faith Bible Chapel 'for a'Use
Permit for a Church and. Sunday School at 14660 Big Basin Way, be
approved subject to the conditions set forth in'the report of
the Staff and Subdivision Committee which was read previously by
the Secretary; motion carried unanimously.

Messrs.. Douty and Miller were present to represent Stanford Uni-
versity but had no further comment regarding this matter. "
JAMES.R. JEDLICKA, Pike Road, .spoke in support of the proposed '.' '.
Use Permit.. He.. stated 1) the type people such seminars would
· bring to Saratoga would be a Credit to the City and 2) the pro- . ..
"' posed use of Grandview Ranch could be compared .to the Masson con-
'certs:'and Montalvo activities~ and such uses were the. basis of the
cultural environment of Saratoga.

stated 1) he, too, had been Concerned about the proposed us of the
property'so had spoken to representative of the University 2).he
now felt sure that the proposed use of GrandviewRanch would be an

HENRY JESSON and PIiILIP DEVIN, Pike Road, stated that they would
not object to Stanford's proposed use of the property.if the access -'
problems could be solved. .'
Commissioner McFall read 1) the report of the Subdivision Committee
relative to UP-64 and 2) the report of the Building Inspector with .'·'
regard to bringing the existing building up to Code.
After further discussion, Commissioner Crisp moved, seconded by .
Commissioner O'Rorke, that the public hearing on UP-64 be closed;
motion carried unanimously and the hearing was closed at 8:20 P~ M.
In answer to.a question from the Commission, Mr. Douty advised that
Stanford University would discontinue use of the building until the
various matters had been cleared.
Commissioner. Crisp moved that UP-64, application.of Stanford-UniVer-

then briefly reviewed this matter. He also read a letter from Howard
L. and Kathleen Brooks opposing the granting of the subject Use. Permit~

Church were present but stated that they had no further comment.

advised ·that a Notice of Hearing had been published and no written
communication, had been received in connection with same. He then
read a letter from the applicant requesting that this application be
continued.
This request was granted and !the Chairman directed C-67 continued
until the meeting on April 27, 1964.
