DR-89-061 - Nasiri, 21780 Heber Way The Planning Director introduced the request to change the ap- proved color and indicated.staff's concern over the proposed change. The Committee reviewed the color palette.approved for the new residence and received comments from the applicants. The appli- cant indicated a preference for "Mediterranean" colors but wanted to avoid colors with a pink cast. The applicants also felt that their tile roof was lighter than most which justified a lighter house color. The Committee felt that the proposed colors would not be accept- able. The applicants were requested to work with staff to arrive at colors that were no brighter than the approved colors. 2. SM-90-001 - DePiero, 14527 Sobey Road The Planning Director indicated that the applicant has met with staff to discuss revised plans to reduce the amount of grading for the proposed pool and patio. The applicant reviewed the revisions which resulted in reduction from 1300 cu. yds. to 700 cu. yds. of earth to be cut from the site. The Committee noted that the previous concerns were addressed by these changes. The item was scheduled for consideration at a continued public hearing at the June 13, 1990 Planning Commission meeting. 3. DR-89-076 2 Young, 15185 Pepper Lane The Planning Director announced that the applicants were request- ing an exterior change from stucco to natural redwood shingles. Staff was prepared to authorize an administrative change to ap- prove the exterior materials because the shingle exterior was viewed to be compatible with this neighborhood. The Committee members agreed the compatibility of the proposal was enhanced by the change to natural shingle. COOl08 · .'Committee-of-the le Report 6/5/90 4. Dividend Development i Villas di Masson The developer was present to request the Committee's approval of the name of the townhome portion of the subdivision. After much discussion, the Committee indicated a preference for "Villas Masson" as an identification for the project. The developer also briefed the Committee on the status of senior operators for the continuing care facility. He was currently in discussions with both Marriott and N. Cal. Presbyterian Homes as potential operators. The developer also discussed the possibility of approving a stand- ard patio cover design for all townhomes at one time, rather than responding to requests from individual homeowners. The Committee asked that the developer work. with staff to prepare a presentation to the Planning Commission. 5. Review of draft correspondence respondinq to ABAG's proposed Land Use Policy Framework for the Bay Area Committee member Kolstad read a letter presented by Col. E.T. Barco offering additional points to be covered in the City's response. The Committee agreed that the points raised by Col. Barco should be included and emphasized, and asked that Committee member Caldwell and the Planning Director prepare a revised draft for presentation to the City Council for the Mayor's signature.
