Action Minutes
I. Call To Order
The meeting was called to order at 7:30 P.M.
II. Roll Call
Commissioners Present: Grantham, Sessler, Skow, Foscato, Peacock,
Towse.
Commissioners Absent: Ceppos
Others present: Dolly Barnes, Susan Fuller, Marcia Manzo, Ron
McCarthy
III. Reoort on Postinc of Commission A~enda
Towse reported that Irene Jacobs had properly posted the agenda.
IV. Approval of Minutes of December 7, 1994, Meeting
Commissioner Peacock made a motion to adopt the minutes as
written, Commissioner Skow seconded the motion. The vote to
approve the minutes was unanimous.

A. Foundation Update
Towse reported on attendance at a Funders Forum presented by the
Nonprofit Development Association.
B. Joint Powers Authority
Fuller reported that plans are moving forward toward the inaugural
meeting of the JPA on 4121/95.
C. Vision 2020
Exploration of Bookdrop options were discussed.
VI.. N~w Business
A. Saratoga Parade: Barbecue
Plans were discussed for the Commission to host a barbecue
after the Saratoga Parade on Sunday, October 8, 1995. Sessler
volunteered to chair the activity. Towse will share notes from
the previous barbecue.
B. Saratogan Article
The upcoming lead article in The Saratogan will feature the Library
Commission. Contributions will include 2020 Vision (Grantham),
Internet connection, extended hours & materials budget (Barnes),
JPA (Fuller), Commission Activities (Towse), Past List of activities
(Peacock) and the upcoming barbecue (Sessler.)
VII. Reports
Susan Fuller. County_ Librarian
South Bay Libraries are working cooperatively with the Mercury
News on several discussion topics. A Ribbon Cutting event is planned
to celebrate the installation of technology purchased with the
$104,000 raised by Cadence Corp. last year. South Bay schools and
libraries are exploring "The School Connection" a vision of
connectivity among local schools and their public libraries.
Dolly Barnes. Community Librarian
The library will be adding CD Roms to circulate to the public. They
are being selected now for circulation beginning next fall. Both adult
and juvenile selections will be purchased.
Sally T0w~e. Chair
A Community Meeting to discuss a variety of City issues will be held
in the Library Community Room Saturday April l st.
IX. Adjournment
Commissioner Peacock made a motion to adjourn the meeting,
seconded by Commissioner Sessler. The vote tO adjourn was
approved unanimously and the meeting was adjourned at 9 P.M.
