ACTION MINUTES
I. Call to Ordgr
The meeting was called to order at 7:30 p.m.
Commissioners present: Ceppos, Grantham, Martini,
Peacock, Skow, Towse
Commissioners absent: Krezek
III. Report on Postins of Commission Agenda
The agenda Was posted on April 14, 1993.
IV. ADDroYal of Minutes of March 24. 1993. Meeting
M/S Martini/Skowto approve the minutes as submitted.
Old Business

A. Fund-raisina Activities
Commissioner Dorathy Skow began the discussion by
mentioning that there was a new City policy which ,
requireda fee for hanging banners in Blaney Plaza.
i Skowexplainedthatthe Friends of the Library hold
: hi-annual book sales and promote the fund-raisers
with a banner in Blaney Plaza. She said that the
Friends' position is that since the funds earned by
its fund-raisers are. channeled back to the City
that the fee should be 'waived. She asked the
Commission to show its support for the Friends by
requesting Council to reconsider the policy. The
Commission requested City Staff Representative
Karen Campbell to draft a letter on the
! Co~mission's behalf.
The Commission continued its discussion of fund-
raising. The Co-mission decided to approach Paul
Masson next season regarding a joint fund-raiser.
The Commissioners also discussed again the
possibility of holding a historical bike ride.
Establishing a foundation was also revisited.
Commissioner Karen Ceppos indicated that she would
be meeting with Virginia Carpio to discuss how to
set up a foundation. County Librarian Susan Fuller
also mentioned that she had the name of someone who
is involved with setting up foundations.
