II. QLD_~USINESS
None.
A. CDBG_Smglestions
Commission did not come up with any suggestions that
would qualify for CDBG funds.
B. Cit X_P~li~v_De~eloument_Items
Commissioner Franklin suggested a centrally located
ticket booth where residents could purchase same-day
tickets for local events. Commissioner Gilman would
like the City to implement a park appreciation program
in conjunction with PTA groups, perhaps having
poster and essay contests, park tours. Commissioner
Clemens suggested having a master plan prepared for the
Heritage Orchard/Central Park. Commissioner Pierce
would like to get fua~ing for Kevin Moran Park design
plan. Commission also feels it is time for a master
plaB for the park in the Beauchamps development.
Commissioner Pierce also suggested having a feasibility
study on a plan for a cross-city combination trail as a
connection to recreation areas, including a study of
a Sobey to Pierce Road connection and a link from
Montalvo to Hakone to Sanborn along the railroad right-
of-way.
C. CX~A_n_T~m_~i~h
Tom Devich, President of California Youth Soccer
Association, spoke to the Commission about CYSA's
desire to have a "home field". He suggested several
ways this could be done provided AYSO would agree. Dan
will check on the agreement between the City and AYSO
pertaining to Congress Springs Park. Commissioners
Ward, Saunders and Pierce will form a committee to meet
with representatives of CYSA and AYSO so use of fields
can be worked out.
Commission discussed modification of Dark hours.
Consensus of all present was that closing hours should
be changed from 10:00 p.m. to 1/2 hour after sunset and
that signs to that effect should be Dosted at each
park. Dan will meet with the City Artornery to have
City Codes amended.
