REPORT OF BIDS - VICKERYAVENUEIMPROVENENTS The CityAdministrator reported that bids for the Vickery Avenue Improvement Project had been opened this date and a Bid Stmwr~y was Viekery presented to the Council. Mr. Huff outlined Alternates A and B and Ave recommended award of the contract to Guerin & Olmeted for Alternate B Imp. in the amount of $10s560.00. He explained that the property owners involved had agreed to pay a fixed amount of $3100.00 and Mr. Ed Crotta had presented a check to the City for $2025.00, promising to pay the balance in a short time, Councilman Tyler moved for award of the contract for VickeryAvenue Improvement to Guerin & OlmeCed in the ~unt of $10,560.00, subject to receipt of the balance of $1075.00 from the property ownersl seconded by Councilmen Hartmenl motion carried unanimously. III PETITIONS t ORDINANCES AND FORI4AL RESOLUTIONS A. RESOLUTION NO. 374 . Resolution So. 374 ls a resolution granting consent of the City Council of saratoga to Sanitation District No. 4 of Santa Clara County to under- take proceedings to construct a sanitary sewerage project and to provide Res. that the cost shall be assessed on the district benefited under appropriate 374 special assessment and assessment bond proceedings on Project No. 1967-2 Unit No. h tit. Huff explained that the assessment district proposed involves sanitary'sewer construction on Fruitvale Avenues Valle Vista,' Monte Vista, Three Oaks Ways and other streets in that areas and the encroachment permi~ issued to the Sanitation District requires tomplaCe resurfacing of the streets invohied where necessary. Councilman HarCmen moved for adoption of Resolution No. 374; seconded by Councilman Tylerl motion carried unanimously. He directed that the minutes of the Planning C~mnission dated August 1~? 1967 concerning this matter and all correspondence be admitted into the record. Councilman Robbins moved for closing o~ the public hearing at 9:09 p.~.; seconded by Councilman Tyler; motion carried. ~ithout objection, l~ayor Glennon directed the matter set over to the next Council meeting when the au~ndment will b~ presented in ~rritten action. D. CITY ADMINISTRATOR (1) Mr. Hu[f stated that the Annual Report of the Expressways Program available for study at the City,offices. (2) Mro tluff reported that a poll of residents in ~he I~mita-Kemina area indicates 15 p~operty owners-favor the im~rov~nant project end 10 property owners oppose it. He requested authorization to engage Lomita~ ~ilson, J0nes~ Morton & Lynch, to prepare petit~.ons to be circulated Komina in the area to permit formal initiation 6f assessment proCeeditems. Sarahills He is particularly concerned with the fractured storm drain pipes Drive ~hen the rainy weather basins. Fu:. Huff advised that temporary ef- forts are bein~ made to build ramps across the depressions, as the City is awaitix~ results of a s~udy by a soils engineer to establish the cause and solution to the dangerous condition of garahills Drive. ' (3) Mr. Huff presented a letter from Bah MonaSan, 12th District Assembly- Assy man~ concernin8 Assembly Joint ReSolution 29~ for Council information. Res. 29 Mayor Glennen said he would revie~ this matter and report a~ the next msetin~. (~) . Meyer Glennon noted receipt of the Sherifles Dept. of Santa Clara County Accident Report for the month of July 1967; also. the report of the Saratoga Buildin~ Depto for AuSus=s 1967. F,e acknowledged the presence of Chamber of C~erce representatives Stuart Ho~ell~ and thanked Miss Ruth O~mn for servin~ of coffee at the msetin~.
