RESOLUTION MV-53 - A Resolu.t~on Establishing Bicycle Lanes Upon and Prohibiting Parking On. Certain Portions of Miller Avenue in the City of Saratoga The City Manager outlined the proposal~ which was being submitted by the con- ~'_~= concerning the modification o'f Plan "E" which had been discussed at the Regular Council Meeting on February 7, 1973. This plan provides for one 5! five and one-half (2) foot bike lane with "No Parking", two eleven and one- 11! half (11½) foot travel lanes, and an .eleven and one-half ( 2) foot bike lane which allows for parking. After discussion of this proposal, the. Council heard from p~ople in the audience. Mrs. Kelly, representing th.~ parents of the Hanson School children, indicated that they felt, I.a_ft,er additional review, that the proposed eight (8) foot -- twelve (12) foot¢7~ twelve (12) foot --.eight (8) foot approach seemed to be more favorable than that currently be reviewed. This was the original recommendation by the city 'staff and the consultant. After hearing further discussion, the Council adopted the modified Plan "E" with the wide lane which provides for a bike lane and on-street parking to be on the west side of Miller Avenue. It.was moved by Councilman Kraus and seconded by Councilman Bridges that Resolution MV-53, Establishing Bicycle Lanes Upon and Prohibiting Parking On Certain Portions of Miller Avenue, be adopted.
