PLACE: Crisp Conference Room, City of Saratoga, 13777 Fruitvale 'Ave., Saratoga, Calif. TYPE: Adjourned Regular Meeting I. ROLL CALL Present: Councilmen Bridges, Diridon, Kraus and Smith Absent: Councilman Dwyer II. CONSIDERATION OF REQUEST TO MOVE MC WILLIAMS HOUSE The City Manager reported that ~the Committee has requested a delay for two weeks. This delay was requested because! of the extension of time given when the house has to be removed. Mrs. Wade, a repreSentalive of the committee working to save the McWilliams house, reported on the various sites which the Commit. tee. has been reviewing: and stated that the Committee had madea~ committment to guarantee the $3,000 the City had required as-a matching amouht to the Ci[y's anticipated contri- bution~ She also mentioned that the Committee thought it would be a' good idea to develop an Historic Site Ordinance which would provide/for keeping historical buildings on the'r original s'te, thus aileviating ~he concer~_f~g_t~ .m~ Icerning the guarantee bX members of the Committee, and the Council indicated that ftheir intent was to get a b_ett_er_base_of_community_suppor.t.,_and that_the_money \Ls. hqu_ld__b~_.a_v.§_ilgble at ~he t. ime__tbe_~ity~makes_.its committment ............... This item was continued to the Committeel of the Whole Meeting of May 8, 1973. III. ORDINANCE 38.12-3 - Ordinance of the City of Saratoga Amending Article VI of Chapter 4 of the Saratoga City Code Providing for the Granting Of Franchises for Cable Television Systems in Said City Representatives of Telecommunications, Inc. indicated that they were not able to submit to the City Manager and the City Attorney their comments on this proposed ordinance. Mr. Wood indicated that there had been a delay in getting the infor- mation to California and requested an extension to May 2nd. Mil Wood indic~te~ that ~1 it had been submitted over a year ago and that the proposed ra~es were competi- i rive with those being used in the Bay Area. There was further discussion on \~this matter, and it' was indicated by the Council that they were opposed to the *.,adjustment of rates at this time. _ _ After further discussion, it was moved by Councilman Diridon and seconded.by Councilman Kraus that Ordinance 38.12-3 be adopted. This was unanimously approved. IV. ORDINANCE 38.53 This was continued to the Regular Meeting on May 2nd. V.
