III. CHANGE ORDER FOR SARATOGA COMMUNITY LIBRARY
The City Manager then indicated to the Council that he wanted
to discuss the need for a change order for the Community Library
pertaining to the redwood siding on the project. He indicated
that he had been informed by the architect that the redwood
specified in the contract documents could not be obtained for a
substantial period of time. Furthermore, it was .indica~{~t'
if we were to proceed at this time without delay to the pf6j&ct
premium grade redwood would have to be purchased. This would be
a better redwood than that speced and would cost approximately
$7,890 more than that committed in the contract documents.
He further indicated that the architect is requesting a change
in the ceiling boards from redwood construction common to red-
wood construction heartgrade, due to the amount of sap showing
in the construction common grade.
Various members of the Council expressed concern over this pro-
posed change order, and requested additional information from
the architect. This portion of the meeting was continued to
later in the evening until the City Manager or Assistant to the
City Manager had an opportunity to answer some specific questions
from the architect.

After further consideration and discussion with the City Manager,
it was moved by Councilwoman Corr and seconded by Councilman
