OF TENTATIVE BUILDING SITE APPROVAL, SDR-1421. (OAK He briefly discussed another project STPZET). SAID CONDITION on Oak Street and the possibility REQUIRES UNDERGROUNDING of forming an assessment district EXISTING OVEP~EAD UTILI'I'LES in conjunction with the project under appeal. Councilwoman Corr inquired if the two large apartment complexes on Oak Street were conditioned to underground. Mr. Robinson replied the pole is located in the middle of the side- walk, and there is no undergrounding associated with that project. The Council discussed with staff potential development on 'adjacent parcels and the requirement for undergrounding.- TheMayor opened the p~blic hearing at 8:11 P.M. Tim Lundell, Attorney, indicated Mr. Sorenson and Mr. Garner have asked him to be a spokesman on this appeal. Mr. Lundell advised that the appellants have an existing structure on the site, which is a 70 year old house they have spent the last 3 or 4 years renovating. This structure is to be retained as part of the apartment complex development on that site! The architectural lines are compatible with the neighborhood and also with the existing structure. The proposal for putting apartments on the site is consistent with the General Plan. They have considered aesthetics and neighborhood needs, and the appeal is directed toward all of these concerns, as well as whether or not they. are going to have to undergroun.d utilities. .- 3 V.
