The public hearing was closed at 8:37 p.m. Councilwoman Callon commented it is her opinion the offensive part of the fence is along Pierce, and it is unusual to have a tall redwood fence right up to the roadside. She suggested perhaps devising a way to keep the fence height as it is along Pierce Road in front of the pool, and stepping it down when getting away from the pool area. M/S: Kalb/Matteoni to grant the appeal of SDR-1200 with regard to the site development plan for a pool to the extent that the City provide the requirement of a I5-foot sideyard setback; allow the relocation of the pool equipment to the front of the site; grant the appeal with regard to the removal of the additional part of the triangular fencing; and request applicant to plan ivy or some other type of narrow covering on the fence to soften the overall impact. The motion was carried, 3 to 1, with Councilwoman Callon indicating opposition, on the basis of the fence in this location. B.
