ORDINANCE 'NO. 4-A 5
AN ORDINANCE DIRECTING THAT AN OFFICIAL
TRAFFIC CONTROL SIGNAL BE INSTALLED AND
COMPLIED WITH AT THE INTERSECTION OF
COX AND SARATOGA AVENUES
The City Coluncil of the City ]of Saratoga does hereby ordain
as follows:
SECTION l: Section 1.1 of Ordinance 4-A of the City of
Sarstoga is here~y amended by adding to Section
10.4o3o-1 of Title 10, Chapter 4, Article 3 of the Santa
A Clara County Ordinance Code ~herein adopted by reference, the
following described intersection:
Cox Avenue and Saratoga Avenue.
SECTION 2: In accord with thee above and in accord with
Vehicle Code Sect]ion 4?7 of the State of Calif-
ornia, an offlcia.1 traffic signal shall so be installed as
to have a flashing yellow sig~nal for traffic' traveling on
Saratoga Avenue at the aforesaid intersection, and a flash-
i~g red signal for traffic traveling on..Cox Aven~e across its
said intersectio~ with Saratoga Avenue.
SECTION 3: This Ordinance is hereby declared to be an
urgency and emergency measure effective immediately
upon its passage and adoption 'and enacted for the preservation
of the public peace, health, S. afety, morals and welfare and
based upon the facts that a traffic study has been made of said
intersection and by reason of the volume of traffic crcssing
said intersection without the above set forth controls, there
is an immediate danger to vehicle drivers and pedestrians
without such control at said intersection.
Zf for any reason this ordinance does not qualif. y
as an emergency ordinance, th$ s~me shall be effective thirty
(30) days after its passage s~d adoption.
This Ordinance was regularly introduced and after the waiting
time required by law was thereafter passed and adopted this 6th
day of November , 1957 by[ the following vote.
