AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SARATOGA AMENDI.NG
CHAPTER 9 OF THE SARATOGA CITY CODE, DECREAS-
ING THE SPEED LIMIT ON A PORTION OF ALLENDALE
AVENUE TO 25 M.P.H.
WHEREAS the Ci[y~Council has determined, upon the basis
of an engineering and traffic survey, that the limit of 35 MPH
is more than is reasonable or safe upon the hereinafter described
public street within this City, and a 25 M~H prima facie speed
limit is found most appropriate to facilitate the orderly move-
ment of traffic and is reasonable and safe, on said public street,
NOW, THEREFORE, the'City COuncil of the City of Saratoga does ~
hereby ordain as follows:
Section 1: There is hereby added to Section 9.51 (a).of the
Saratoga City Code, which section establishes a
25 MPH prima facie speed limit, the following city street:
Name of Street Description
Allendale Avenue From its intersection with the
the most easterly Harleigh Drive
on the east westerly to a point
150± feet westerly of Chester
Avenue.
Section 2: If any section, subsection, sentence, ctause or
phrase of this ordinance is for any reason held by a
court of competent jurisdiction to be invalid, such decision shall not
affect the validity of the remaining portions of this ordinance. The
City Council of the City of Saratoga hereby declares that it would have
passed this ordinance and each section, subsection, sentence, clause
and phrase thereof, irrespective of the fact that any one or more
sections, subsections, sentences, clauses or phrases be held invalid
or unconstitutional.
Section 3: This ordinance shall be in full force and effect
thirty (30) days after the date of its passage and
adoption.
The above and foregoing ordinance was regularly introduced and
after the waiting time required by law was thereafter passed and
