I. Call To Order
A. The agenda was posted on Friday, November 8, 2002
B. Roll Call- Everyone was present except Byrne, Farnum, Jayakumar, and Skelly
II. Communication From the Public
A. DJ-IM- new OJ
1. ~im sent us his resume and would like to OJ a dance. He has had lots of
experience- weddings, parties, hoedowns, and more- but he has not
done a real dance. He charges $350 for a night (about 3 hours) and has
all his own equipment
B. Jamin Brackin- community center concert
2. He is a Saratoga based band and is very experienced. He has all his own
equipment and wants to put on a concert at the WHH with 3-5 other bands on a
Friday night- possibly a fundraiser. He has a following of about 100- 150 people,
so it would attract people to the WHH.

IV. Old Business
A. Dance- Elise and Valerie
1. Clean up: Please stay after and clean up until the end.
2. Cop: Motion approved to have a cop at every dance.
3. Low attendance: about 330 people. Reasons: day after Halloween;
some schools had day off; lots of complaints about DJ- not enough slow
songs, didn't take requests, what about rap or rock for variety; freaking
policy- needs to be "appropriate dance" and kids are warned- not asked
to leave.
4. Advertising: More publicity
V. New Business
A. New Dates
1. January 31 WHH Concert
2. January 10 (notfor sure) and March 14 SYC Dances
B. Fresh Choice Fundraiser
1. Announcements: more advertiSing
2. Attendance: Don't know numbers yet from Fresh Choice, but more
Youth Commissioners need to show up.
3. Next fundraiser is the 3rd week of November- possibly Armadillo Willies
C. Girls Ovemight
1. March 7-8
2. Going in to brochure that gets sent to all Saratoga residents
3. Talk about more in December
D. Annual Appeal
1. Total $6,375- improvement from last year
2. Thank you ~o volunteers and staff
E. WHH Events
1. Astro Jump: $90-10003 hours by company' Jump World" - more at next meeting,
aim for February so there won't be any rain
2. FoodfToy Drive: Thru Thanksgiving you can bring cans to WHH to go to the 2nd
Harvest Food Bank- put up signs for promotion
3. Halloween BI3Q attendance: need more people- a representative from the SYC-
lots of kids dressed up. More advertising and promotion- flyers, posters,
announcements
F. Calendar Sale- Ballingall
1. DatesfTimes: November 29, day after Thanksgiving, around tree lighting
time- 5:30-6:30 by the Fire Station
2. Sign-ups: Table and cash box, sell for $10 and we make a $3 profit

G. Skate Park
1. Closed until January- don't get attendance
2. Professional Skate Demo- if we get a permanent spot
3. Permanent Spot- look into Gardener's Park, look into bikes, making a
map of where kids come from, rent pads?
H. Website- Taffy and Baker
1. Try to save old website and get it into next years budgetto get software
from community website
I. WHH MovieslTV
1. PG-13 and MTV is up to Taffy and the staff's discretion- it depends on
content and why it is rated PG-13
2. No permission slips
J. Committees
1. Set Dates:
Dance: Friday before dance- email
Special Events: Tuesday, December 3,7-7:45 at Starbucks
High School: Next Monday at 5:00 at Starbucks
Public Relations: right after meeting
WHH: Friday, December 6, 3:00 at WHH
VI. Committee Reports:
A. Da~ces
1. Next theme- semi-formal, pictures- Polaroid or professional? $10 for
ticket and photo
B. Special Events
1. Restaurant Night
2nd Week on Oecember- Chevy's -Elise
Starbuck- try for a Saturday or school am or evening
2. Saratoga Lanes- renting, prizes
3. Music Fest- May 17th Wildwood Park 12-5 concession, band stuff, skate
park? Mini!j1um 5 bands, maximum 14 bands, in 30-minute sets- need
to interview. All types of music- bluegrass, country, a capella, punk,
rock- variety- organize according to genre
C. High School Activities
1. Concert- really low attendance- more advertising, we had a punk,
hop/hop punk and old rock band. Next concert is on January 31.
Sherman Oaks community center has a concert next weekend.
Advertisements- paper, radio, announcements. Bands- same plus more
variety
D. Public Relations: None
E. WHH
1. Show up if you have time on a free day- stop by and hang with the kids
to show your presence.
VII. Other Discussion
A. New DJ: Jimmy Bourque
Motion to hire him for the next dance made by Elise Schwartz. Motion Seconded
by Michael Byrne. Motion approved. Jimmy Bourque will DJ next dance January
10 or 24 (Date to be decided because Redwood fundraiser dance is on January
10)
B. We are going to look into a community center concert with Jamin and his band- possibly
for all ages including middle school- after January.
