PLANNING COMMISSION
MEETING SUMMARY
DATE: Tuesday, November 1, 1994
PLACE: Senior Center - Adult Day Care Center, 7:30 p.m.

TYPE: Adjourned Regular Meeting
The meeting is a study session between applicants, interested
citizens and staff, to discuss advance planning projects, continued
applications and general planning issues. The Planning Commission
has a policy that no decisions will be made at these sessions. A
written report will be made of the proceedings.
ITEMS OF DISCUSSION
1. TREE ORDINANCE COMMITTEE STATUS REPORT - Presentation by the
Tree Ordinance Review Committee regarding the purpose and
process in revising the Tree Preservation Ordinance (Sec.
15.50 of the City Code). [7:30-8:30]
The tree committee presented a slide show and an analysis of
proposed ordinance amendments. The committee requested more time
before submitting the final draft ordinance to the Commission.
2. DESIGN REVIEW PROCESS - Review and discussion of the current
Design Review process and content. [8:30-9:00]
A general discussion ensued regarding the "cookie cutter" effect
when all new houses are designed to maximize square footage and
height as allowed by the current code.
3. REVIEW OF SANTA CLARA COUNTY DRAFT GENERAL PLAN. [9:00-9:30]
Staff was directed to draft a written response to the draft Plan
subject to review by the Planning Commission and the City Council.
ADJOURNMENT
The meeting was adjourned to Wednesday, December 14 at 7:30 p.m..
