PLANNING COMMISSION

PLACE: Senior Center - Aduit Day Care Center, 7:30 p.m.

TYPE: Adjourned Regular Meeting
The meeting is a study session between applicants, interested
citizens and staff, to discuss advance planning projects, continued
applications and general planning issues. The Planning Commission
has a policy that no decisions will be made at these sessions. A
written report will be made of the proceedings.

ITEMS OF DISCUSSION
1. TREE ORDINANCE REVIEW - Review of Tree Committee recommended
revisions to the Tree Preservation Ordinance and the
associated tree preservation guidelines.(7:30-9:00)
The tree committee made a presentation consisting of a slide show
by Barrie Coate illustrating examples of tree preservation issues,
an analysis by Lisa Korach of the proposed ordinance changes and a
discussion of a mock tree preservation plan presented by Bob
Peepari. Copies of the proposed tree preservation guidelines were
distributed to the Commission.
The Commission was receptive to the presentation and questioned
whether ample time would be available at the upcoming joint City
Council meeting to present all of the relevant tree preservation
issues. It was resolved to formally request that a special joint
City Council/Planning Commission study session be scheduled
expressly for this purpose.
2. Review of letter from John DeManto regarding design review
issues.(9:00-(9:30)
Due to the late hour, the letter was not discussed by the
Commission.

The meeting was adjourned to Wednesday, February 8 at 7:30 p.m..
