REPORT SUMMARY: The Highway 9 Safety Improvement Project is a multi-jurisdiction multimillion-dollar project requiring phasing. Each phase is funded by a separate grant, which require a local share. Phase III of the Project includes local match shares from City of Monte Sereno, Town of Los Gatos, County of Santa Clara, and VTA as part of its funding. There is adequate funding for the City’s local match for Phase III in the adopted budget for Highway 9 Safety Project. The attached Budget Resolution is needed to categorize each funding source in the budget. When the budget resolution is approved, the Phase III design work can move forward. It is therefore recommended the Council approve the attached resolution. FISCAL IMPACTS: Funding for Phase III is available in Highway 9 Safety Improvement budget. CONSEQUENCES OF NOT FOLLOWING RECOMMENDED ACTION: The design work on the Highway 9 Safety improvement Project Phase III will not move forward. ALTERNATIVE ACTION: None in addition to the above. FOLLOW UP ACTION: Budget will be adjusted and the design work will begin. ADVERTISING, NOTICING AND PUBLIC CONTACT: Pursuant to Government Code 54954.2, this item was properly posted as a City Council agenda item and was included in the packet made available on the City’s web site in advance of the meeting.
