HomeMy WebLinkAbout102-Commendation.pdf COMMENDATION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SARATOGA HONORING NORMAN KOEPERNIK FOR HIS SERVICE ON THE HERITAGE PRESERVATION COMMISSION WHEREAS, Norman Koepernik began his volunteer service on the Heritage Preservation Commission in May 1992; and WHEREAS, since 1992, Norman has served the City of Saratoga as a Heritage Preservation Commissioner for a total of 12 years; and WHEREAS, Norman’s sense of purpose, creative thinking and leadership made him an effective commissioner and chairperson for many years; and WHEREAS, Norman’s accomplishments and contributions to the community of Saratoga as a Commissioner encompass many areas. He helped create the Heritage Orchard, assisted in the development of the Heritage Tree program, helped create the Heritage Inventory; and served on the commission to save the Warner Hutton House; and WHEREAS, Norman painted the Memorial Arch in Blaney Plaza and he also raised funds to pay for the book “Saratoga’s Heritage: A Survey of Historic Resources”. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Saratoga does hereby commend Norman Koepernik for his many years of hard work and dedication to the Heritage Preservation Commission and extends to him their appreciation and best wishes for the future.
