HomeMy WebLinkAbout103-Resolution.pdf RESOLUTION NO. 11 – RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SARATOGA CONFIRMING REPORT AND ASSESSMENT OF HAZARDOUS VEGETATION ABATEMENT CHARGES WHEREAS, at a regular meeting held on July 6, 2011, the Office of the Agricultural Commissioner submitted a report to this City Council consisting of all unpaid bills for weed abatement expenses and a proposed assessment list, and the parcels against which said expenses, including applicable administrative and collection costs are to be assessed, all pursuant to Article 15, Chapter 7 of the Saratoga City Code; and WHEREAS, the City Council, having heard said report and all objections; thereto, and the Council, finding that no modifications need to be made to any of said assessments. NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS ORDERED that the 2011 Weed Abatement Program, Assessment Report, City of Saratoga, prepared by the Office of the Agricultural Commissioner, which report is attached hereto as Exhibit A and incorporated herein by reference, be and hereby is confirmed. Should the abatement work be completed by a County contractor, the property owner will be assessed the contractor’s charges plus a County administrative fee of $169. The total amount will be included as a special assessment on the property owner’s tax bill following confirmation of the charges; and the Santa Clara County Auditor will be directed to enter the amounts of said assessments against the respective parcels of land on the County Tax Roll, and to collect the same at the time and in the manner as general municipal property taxes are collected. A certified copy of this resolution and assessments shall be filed with the Santa Clara County Auditor. The above and foregoing resolution was passed and adopted by the Saratoga City Council at a regular meeting held on the 6th day of July 2011, by the following vote: AYES: NOES: ABSTAIN: ABSENT: Howard A.
