On May 11, 2011, the County of Santa Clara Board of Supervisors announced the appointment of
Kenneth R. Kehmna to serve as the new Fire Chief for the Santa Clara County Fire Department.
Chief Kehmna, who has 23 years of fire service experience, began his career as a firefighter with

all training activities to ensure firefighter readiness. From 2005 to 2007, Chief Kehmna was
Battalion Chief. From August 2004 to May 2005, he served as Training Captain and Fire

Association and Cal Fire.
The Santa Clara County Fire Department is a California Fire Protection District serving Santa
Clara County and the communities of Campbell, Cupertino, Los Altos, Los Altos Hills, Los
