The City has been working with residents to address traffic and safety concerns on Portos. The neighborhood is concerned with students from West Valley Community College parking along the street during school hours. Other issues include problems with mail delivery, garbage pickup, and an inability to have a safe sight distance while backing out of the driveway. One solution would be to restrict parking from 8:00 am – 3:00 pm Monday-Friday on the west side of Portos Drive for the entire length of block (between Allendale and Harleigh Drive. This new restriction could have an impact on parking on the east side of the street as well. The City is seeking input from residents before moving forward with any restrictions. Please contact me at 408-868-1258 or kborel@saratoga.ca.us before May 31 if you have any questions or concern. The City had been working with residents to address traffic and safety concerns on the east side of Portos, and now has information supporting a restriction of the west side of Portos. The new proposal would be to restrict parking from 8:00 am – 3:00 pm, Saturday, Sunday and Holidays excluded, on both sides of Portos Drive for the entire length of block (between Allendale and Harleigh Drive. Before moving forward, the City is checking that residents are supportive of the proposed parking restriction. Please contact me at 408-868-1258 or kborel@saratoga.ca.us before Friday, June 3rd if you have any questions or concerns. If there are no objections by June 3rd, I will schedule this for approval by the City Council. After the meeting, a work order will be placed to order and install the new signs. Our goal is to have signs placed in your neighborhood later this summer and before school begins. Sincerely, Kristin Borel Kristin Borel Public Works Analyst
