Our farm, gardens, and integrative educational programs empower youth and adults to cultivate, harvest and consume organic, seasonal produce. These activities are the building blocks that help form communities dedicated to healthy living and environmental responsibility. We lead by example, and champion the development of community gardens, farms, and most importantly, the education of our children and communities in what our food system can and will become. It 0 --. Full Circle ]Farm y'► jn Full Circle Farm (FCF) is an w t" 11 acre community -based educational farm located in the heart of Silicon Valley. FARM ( Our mission is to dramatically increase access to local, nutritious, life- changing food! We achieve this by delivering healthful, seasonal, farm fresh produce to local school lunch programs, restaurants, businesses, universities and our community. Our Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) program runs year- round, as does our onsite Farm Stand which is open to the public three days per week. Situated on Santa Clara Unified School District land, Full Circle Farm's garden -based classes, workshops, field trips and events help students and families experience the connections between our community, our environment, and the soil and food that sustain us. Our integrated educational programs put students in charge of the work, responsibilities and rewards of growing, harvesting, preparing, and eating freshly grown produce. These challenging and rewarding experiences can change lifelong eating habits as well as instill sustainable thinking and responsible action in our leaders of tomorrow. We are a living example of preserving the space and soil essential in growing the food that keeps us healthy, connected and alive. Charles Street I(-t Gardens Founded in 2006, Sunnyvale's first community garden, Charles Street Gardens `f11i1'' (CSG), sits on one acre of land owned by the City of Sunnyvale. With 92 large community garden plots, Charles Street provides an opportunity for residents, from all walks of life, to work together to grow their own food using organic methods. With sold -out beds, a 100- person waiting list, and a large, active email list, CSG has been wildly successful in providing fresh produce and horticultural education to Sunnyvale families. The Santa Clara County Master Gardeners have a teaching and demonstration garden onsite. Monthly classes feature organic gardening, water -wise landscaping and integrated pest management. Hundreds from the Sunnyvale community come to enjoy seasonal plant sales and events, making the gardens a thriving community resource. Volunteers manage a highly productive 1600- square foot "food forest ", and donated over 3000 pounds of fresh produce to local food pantries in 2009 alone. GET INVOLVED!
