A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SARATOGA
AMENDING THE CAPITAL BUDGET FOR FISCAL YEAR 2011/12 TO ACCOUNT FOR A
SARATOGA MONTE SERENO COMMUNITY FOUNDATION GRANT FOR
THE CITY'S TREE DEDICATION PROGRAM
WHEREAS, through the City of Saratoga's Tree and Bench Dedication Program, members of the
public may purchase a tree or bench to be placed on City property to honor or memorialize a loved one; and
WHEREAS, in September 2010, the City Council allocated $25,000 to the Tree and Bench Dedication
Program to reduce the cost of dedication trees from $500 per tree to $250 per tree; and
WHEREAS, the Saratoga Monte Sereno Community Foundation is a local non profit working towards
improving the quality of life for Saratoga and Monte Sereno residents; and
WHEREAS, the Saratoga Monte Sereno Community Foundation has agreed to grant $2,500 to the City
of Saratoga to further reduce the cost of dedication trees from $250 per tree to $125 per tree for up to 20 trees;
and
WHEREAS, to accept the grant funding from the Saratoga Monte Sereno Community Foundation, the
following adjustments to the Fiscal Year 2011/12 capital budget need to be adopted:

Tree Dedication Program Budget Expenditure 421 9212 002 -81121 $2,500
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of Saratoga hereby approves the
above adjustments to the Fiscal Year 2011/12 Capital Improvement Budget.
The above and foregoing resolution was passed and adopted at a regular meeting of the Saratoga City Council
held on the 17 day of August 2011 by the following vote:
AYES: Council Member Manny Cappello, Emily Lo, Jill Hunter, Vice Mayor Chuck Page,
Mayor Howard A. Miller
NOES: None
