REPORT SUMMARY: Alert SCC is the emergency notification and warning system for Santa Clara County and the City of Saratoga. When used the system can send emergency messages to the general public via e- mail, text, and voice. The system already contains all of the landline telephone numbers in the City but individual people need to give their cellular phone numbers and e-mail addresses to the system voluntarily at www.alertscc.com. It is highly recommended that people provide this information to the system so that it will provide them emergency information more effectively. FISCAL IMPACTS: None CONSEQUENCES OF NOT FOLLOWING RECOMMENDED ACTION: N/A ALTERNATIVE ACTION: None FOLLOW UP ACTION: Alert SCC promotional materials should be posted prominently in the City. ADVERTISING, NOTICING AND PUBLIC CONTACT: Pursuant to Government Code 54954.2, this item was properly posted as a City Council agenda item and was included in the packet made available on the City’s website in advance of the meeting. A copy of the agenda packet is also made available at the Saratoga Branch Library each Monday in advance of the Council meeting. ATTACHMENTS: None
