DRAFT
April 14, 2009
To: Saratoga Parks and Recreation Commission
We would like to thank you for the joint council meeting organized between our two
commissions. In follow -up, there were some key points we emphasized during our meeting.
With exception to the Wildwood Park, most teens have limited knowledge of the availability of
the city's parks. However, there is an interest among teens to want to become more connected to
their neighborhood parks. With that said, here are some examples to bridge that gap.
o Establishing a new skate park
o New bike trails
o Offering perks to teens such as community service hours for managing, maintaining, and
acting as park guides for residents.
In short, we were enjoying meeting with your commission and look forward to working with you
in the near future.
Sincerely,
Kia Fariba, Youth Commissioner
2008 -2009 Youth Commission
