I am sorry that I am unable to attend the meeting on July 18th due to a family event Please convey our deep concern and frustration to the city council members regarding the use of our private and scenic property by the bicyclists and the damage they are causing: physical, environmental and noise pollution. Many residents of Parker Ranch that live along the trail are very concerned and continue to suffer from the invasion of the bicyclists in their backyards /sideyards. City's efforts to contain the problem have not been effective at all and too feeble. The problem is increasing by the day and sometimes we feel unsafe in our own homes. I think the city of Saratoga residents deserve a lot better. Bicyclists continue to disregard any signs posted by the city and invade private property to create their own new paths wherever they can. The city is now improving the Parker Ranch trails for the pedestrians. The trail next to my home is going to be sprayed for poison oak etc and the brush has been cleared to widen the trail. These are all well intentioned efforts to encourage walkers but is having the opposite effect of inviting and encouraging the bikers to enjoy the trails. Bikers have run the walkers and hikers off the trail. I live right next to one and believe me for every one hiker that I see on the trail, there are at least 8 -10 bikers. The city must stop these efforts to improve the trail at once and launch a vigorous effort to stop and ban the bicyclists by whatever means, once and for all. I have provided some ideas in my earlier email. We can't really enjoy being in our backyards or on our decks because the bikers are ever present during the weekends and weekdays during the afternoon /evening hours. Our Parker Ranch Board is in the midst of re- election at the present time and unable to write a letter on our behalf. This should, however, not restrain the city council from taking strict action against the bikers community. Thank you very much.
