Honorable Members, Saratoga City Council:
Re: John Henry House. Item 8, New Business, January 15, 2014 Meeting
Unfortunately,I will be unable to attend tonight's meeting but would like to express
my feelings
that the John Henry House should be preserved and protected at its current site.
The city should take whatever steps are necessary, including the purchase of the
property
and the building to ensure that some of the heritage of the Saratoga village be
preserved.
As I have previously stated, my family made sure that the house and barn, just down
the
street from the Henry House at 14605 Big Basin Way was preserved and protected.
Today
it continues to serve as a reminder of Saratoga's rich heritage. The John Henry
House
deserves the same respect.
I urge you to do the right thing. The house should not be moved but retained at its
current
location for posterity.
Thank you for your time, consideration an forethought.
Sincerely yours,
PETER CALDWELL
