Daylight Time From: Teresa Mills To: Jill Hunter, Emily Lo, Howard Miller, Manny Cappello, Chuck Page, Dave Anderson, City Clerk [Crystal Bothelio) City Council, I am opposed to approving a variance for the property at 12250 Saratoga- Sunnyvale Road. Many residents have filed emails, attended outreach meetings, Planning Commission meetings, and City Council meetings expressing opposition to approving height increases in the City's commercial zones. What is the point in having a set height limit for buildings if we do not actually enforce it? If there had been a compelling argument for approving the height variance, then the Planning Commission would have voted in favour of it. I am also opposed to adding a preschool or after school learning facility to this location, especially if there is not adequate parking to accommodate the intended use. As a cyclist and driver, I have to deal with the hazardous situation created by just such an approval for the Challenger school on Cox. I do not want such a situation created on Sunnyvale- Saratoga road. Cars queuing up in the bike lane, forcing the cyclists into the road, especially on Sunnyvale- Saratoga Rd where drivers are going 40 mph or more, is going to be dangerous. Please listen to the residents of this city and uphold the decision made by the Planning Commission. Sincerely, Teresa Mills Page 1 of 1 Wednesday, June 19, 20131 :55:17 PM Pacific Daylight Time Subject: Additional docs (photos) for hearing tonight Date: Wednesday, June 19, 2013 1:53:27 PM Pacific Daylight Time From: Awinash Sinha To: City Clerk [Crystal Bothelio] Hi Crystal, Based on our discussion earlier today, I am submitting two photographs for city council member to support the points I have made in written concerns with expansion plan at 12250 Saratoga - Sunnyvale Road. The first photograph is view from my bedroom on 2nd floor facing subject property. The second photograph is view from my backyard. From both photograph, you can visualize the effect of commercialization on my life in terms of compromise on privacy and noise level. With construction of two story building at subject site, both Privacy and noise level would be further impacted. I will request city council member to balance the need between commercialization and residential home owners. Looking forward to discussing this further in meeting.
