HomeMy WebLinkAbout09-16-2015 Oral Comminications-Letters to CouncilDEAR CITY COUNCIL MEMBERS AND PARTICIPANTS (re: garden mess)
If you are really interested to provide Saratogians with garden, there is plenty of idling place
adjacent to south entry of the garden, with the same water supply. We are tired to describe real
situation and see silent, indifferent faces of people who are here to make a decision and
finish this tragicomedy. After we proved unlawfulness of termination you restored us. We
have proved you that the underlying reason of this shameful story is not purpose to work
well, or protect residents' interests of City Saratoga. For decades Saratogians were here, but
plots were idling there, because recreation department was idling too. We also reminded
you, that new rules should not have retroaction! It is not fare business, and not proper for
fare people. They gave us a ground, we cultivated we spent thousands of dollars money,
and made blossoming garden. When we should get fruits, to take back garden, they
changed policy! Child could understand that it was just retaliation and discrimination of
embittered for own mistake recreation department! To hidden that, recreation department
did not hesitate to deprive another 6 seniors from their investments, just to realize their
evil intention. They directly changed existing agreement in the way that prohibits none
Saratoga residents continue to be in the garden after 2015. From first look this is evil
children's play, but who did that is not a child? We are not toy to be plaid with! Who is
doing this does not respect himself. Misuse of power, trickery, swindler, thief and robbery-
and
obberyand many inferior actions made not by street guy, not by casual thief, but by government
agency of the United States are like a death sentence not just to us but to the hall country
too! And you are protectors of this dirty business?! We considered you, and you should be
the highest court on this territory who should keep justice and order. That's why, but the
facts in the garden, for your multilateral and humanly approach to the question we
presented you conclusion of my primary doctor regarding importance of the garden for my
health, and many alike recommendations. After all, we understood that none of those has
any value for you. Instead balanced decision of the board, you show persistence of wrongful
person who continue to tell "My mistake is right, because I am a decision maker, I am the
king of the forest". Protecting mistake initiated in recreation department you take all
responsibility on you, and this is right, if you do not allow they would not do that. Together,
in the heart of Silicon Valley you are building Wild West again! Wins who is strong. Who
is strong he is right. Strong one can do everything he like! No control, no moral values!
Autocracy and despotism! Who should protect he hurts us. This honorable one circle a year
merry -go -around, on what you sit, is not for that. Doing what should not be done, you are
physically and morally cheating and robing us, exhausting all our sacred hopes that Saratoga is a
part of USA! We are tired of this drug. Only killer terrorist could confiscate innocent peoples'
investments, happiness and life. So, you please refrain from that, since it is improper for you!
Who else needs garden more, than who built it, and who lives last days of his life? Whatever
happens around you, you should take proper attention to it. Telling about deficiencies and
mistakes in your area we are helping you to correct them. We sent letters to you, we had
speeches here, but arisen problems sank into oblivion in your archives! As if city council "does
not know about them because those crying problems weren't in agenda". So, please put all
our speeches and all our letters in "agenda". Stop usurpation what we have created, we are not
enemies, and we are not in war. Return please our stolen rights and garden. Please give us
an answer in written. Respectfully, fad amdNenp aramid n, 408-530-8370, 9/16 15

Dear City Council,
We would like to ask you to add to next Council meeting (September 30) agenda the following
topic:
"Resolve Saratoga Community Gardens situation"
At the meeting we will be asking to implement a very simple resolution to the stalemate City
and Gardeners are in at this point:
1. Allow existing gardeners to stay at their current plots to honor their long term efforts and
financial contributions to the Gardens and City of Saratoga
2. Utilize additional plots for the people on the waiting list.
Land for these additional plots is available within the current Gardens limits (photos of which
were submitted during last month meeting).
IF Needed
3. Invite all people scheduled to be evicted as well as all people on the waiting list to the
meeting, to see if there is an actual need for the additional plots.
Sincerely,
Roza, Garri, and Alex Grossman

1. Since June 17 the non -Saratoga residents, who were ordered to give up their plots in Saratoga
Community Garden to Saratoga residents, spoke at Saratoga Council Meetings 6 times. Each speech was
reported in City Council documents as a request to change the Garden policy. This is not correct. We
were asking not to apply the policy retroactively to us, who were given the plots about 8 years ago and
were not told that we would be terminated.
2. Members of City Council raised a question about room for expanding the garden. Actually there is
room, and we suggested it to City Council members.
3. There was no response to our speeches or suggestion so far.
We would like to ask City Council to include our topic in the agenda for their next City Council Meeting.
We are also proposing to invite all non -Saratoga gardeners and all people who are on the waiting list.
This will make the garden situation much clearer or, or even resolve it.
Sincerely,
Garri and Roza Grossman, plot H
