Call to Order: (7:02)
Roll Call: Agrawal, Chang, Gupta, Khare, Lee, Lin, Pandya , Smith, Sreedhara, Vijay, Wang
(All present).
Report on Posting of the Agenda: Pursuant to Government Code Section 54954.2, this meeting
was properly posted on October 18, 2013.
Accept Agenda Items: No additional items may be added pursuant to Government Code Section
54954.2.
Approval of October 8 minutes: Tabled for next meeting
Oral & Written Communication: Any member of the public may address the Commission about
any matter not on the agenda for this meeting for up three minutes. Commissioners may not
comment on the matter, but may choose to place the topic on a future agenda.

1. Collaborative Efforts
a. Presentation to Council members regarding upcoming program ideas:
1. WOW: Shefali/Summer
-Handprint poster for students who walk at least one day in the program
-will serve as memento, encourages participation
-Talk to parents
-ask for feedback, encourage student participation
-Ask PTA if they are interested in publicity
-One fact per day in their classroom to raise environmental awareness
-Invite traffic safety commission to observe all four schools
2. Cultural/Fun Events: Allison/Jeremy
-Stay away from making the events purposeless, keep goals in mind.
-Start soon with ticket sales (lasertag) Saratoga first then Lynbrook/MV/Prospect
-Faire outside
-Divide times for middle and high school students
-Possible go-to event: Chinese New Year celebration, Feb 9 at Argonaut 2-4 pm
(participation possibility)?
3. Yac Attack: Nihar
-To be held in March
-Workshop on how to hold a forum
4. Bullying Forum/Speakout: Somya
-Hold the event in January, or sometime in Spring
-Try to hold it during the 4th week of any month such that there is greater attendance
5. Project Cornerstone: Anu/Maya
-Keep in mind interest level of students
-Try to expand city awareness
-Do not promise events
6. Collaboration: Justin
-Get the YC name out
-Work with only a few groups so as to stay productive
7. Outreach: Mihir
-Saratoga’s facebook page can also be used

a) Marketing Strategies
1. Work on WOW video during the meeting
3. Special Events/ Community Outreach
a. Witchy Walk: Saturday October 26th
1. Confirmed attendance: Allison, Jane, Anu, Somya (beginning), Justin (maybe),
Summer (second half), Shefali (beginning)
2. Meet at 1: 45 to help set up at the Wells Fargo parking lot
3. Spooky Makeover Booth: Finish poster at this meeting, materials to be brought by
Bridget
b. Tree Lighting: Friday November 29th
1. Participation ideas: TBD
2. Keep date in mind
4. Walk-One-Week (WOW)
1. Update on Argonaut scheduling: due to scheduling and essay conflicts, Argonaut will
be moved to Spring
2. Communicate with Foothills for a Fall timing if possible (Shefali)

1. Redwood Middle School Administration Meeting update: open to the idea, dates TBD

2. Make a promo video for SHS TV/ Look into company promo videos
