Organization Attendees: Denise Goldberg, Chair Bill Brooks, Citizen Advisor Jim Stallman, Citizen Advisor Iveta Harvancik, Staff Ray Cosyn, Citizen II. Administration Minutes approved for February and April 2008 with correction to 4/5 work party date. III. Oral and Written Communication None. IV. Old Business A. Parker Ranch Conservation Project – 3 of 4 scheduled work days completed. Project is on track for completing work up to where nature takes over. Some discussion about using a power roto tiller. Lombard street 80% gone. Recommended to add signs in locations where illicit trail spurs take off from main trail – signs to state something about private property, under restoration, keep out. A question about adding more chain link barrier fencing was entertained with the suggestion that blocking with brush be the preferred barrier for now. A determination of whether the uppermost northerly connector trail is called out in the trail easement needs to be made and if it is not, pursue adding it. Turnout is expected to be good for the final date. B. Bicycle Facilities Improvement Map – Summarized Committee comments noting that VTA money is available to upgrade/fix roads if they are a designated Bike Facility. A clarification was asked for the committee, although sending along in the comments that they were “open to the idea of deleting some bike routes” instead indicate to whoever is acting on comments that the committee recognizes that Big Basin Way and Pierce need to remain as Bike Routes so that some sections can be made safer. Big Basin has the blind turn just down from Pierce and Pierce also has some deficit shoulders in the first half mile section from Sunnyvale Saratoga Road. VTA money could even be used to create a bypass bike path opposite the poor sight line section of Big Basin Way once it becomes park land – something presently in the works. Mt. Eden should also remain a bike route since it is popularly used as one. C. Bicycle Intersection Survey – The spreadsheet has been turned in and is being evaluated by Public Works. D. Deer Trail Court – no update, this was last reported as needing action on the part of the requestor property owner to do a survey. The request looked to be doable and an improvement to the present trail alignment. V. Reports 2 Bill reported on Garrod Trail. Bill took a photo of a new construction bridge that represented a great value in design and construction. Anza Trail – city is working on the easement legalities with PG&E also corridor has been defoliated again this year – by whom is unknown. VI. Action Items None
