III. Oral and Written Communication

VII. Staff Report
A. Property upstream of Hakone has been sold.
County Planning Dept. will involv e Saratoga in review of any development proposal
that ensue. This property would potentially include a segment of the Saratoga to the
Sea Trail.
B. 2 new bridges are in place on the Carnelian Glen Trail
C. Trail Benches now installed at the following 4 locations:
San Marcos Trail, Parker Ranch and Vista Pt., Parker Ranch on Diamond Oaks
connector and Parker Ranch at the Prospect Trailhead.
D. A committee member requested that driveway seal coats in locations where
Equestrian trails are located have a nonslip coating applied.
VIII. Old Business
A. Bicycle Intersection Improvements
All left turn lanes at signals have now had the detection loops sensitivity increased to
help detect bicycles. They will be marked with a stencil within a month. A request to
increase the green time was made by a committee member. A question was asked
about what the outcome was regarding the dedesignation of Bike Routes on Pierce
and Big Basin Way and Mt. Eden.
B. CIP Priority Rankings No information was av ailable.
C. Lawrence Sidewalk Finished.
There may be a gathering to mark the completion on August 30th at 3:30 in
conjunction with the relocated McDonalds ev ent.
IX. New Business
A. Congress Springs Connection
Next steps were discussed. A request for photos of the Stevens Creek Trail at
Middlefield would show this.
B. Agenda changes and addition

Agenda has added a Staff Report item as a permanent feature.
VII. Member Reports
A. Heritage Orchard Trail ribbon cutting is August 26 th at 3:30pm
B. Saratoga Schools and routes to the schools are puncture vine free as of the start of
the school year. This is an ad hoc effort to make bicycle trips to and from school
more attractiv e to new and continuing bicyclists. A question was asked about bicycle
safety education in the schools. It was reported by a committee member that schools
hav e provided bicycle educational information and advisories in student packets.
X. Action Items
A. Denise to check with Traffic Safety Committee on status of bike route.
B. Jim to provide photos of paths along freeway soundwalls
