Call to Order 7:02
Roll Call: Agrawal, Chang, Chien, Finch, Lee (absent), Khare , R. Pandya, Smith, Sreedhara,
Tang (late 7:04), Vijay.
Report on Posting of the Agenda: Pursuant to Government Code Section 54954.2, this
meeting was properly posted on December 4, 2012.
Accept Agenda Items: No additional items may be added pursuant to Government Code Section
54954.2.
Approval of November Minutes Agrawal, Sreedhara
Oral & Written Communication: Any member of the public may address the Commission about any
matter not on the agenda for this meeting for up three minutes. Commissioners may not comment
on the matter, but may choose to place the topic on a future agenda.
I. Tree Lighting Ceremony
a. Review

II. Teen Friendly Business Award
a. Partnership with Chamber of Commerce’s Youth Advisory Council
1.Chamber of Commerce goal: promote businesses in Saratoga
1. Meet first Monday of every month at chamber downtown
a. future goals: 5K run, crab feed, Valentine’s Day Wine
Stroll with Chamber of Commerce
2. Good collaboration for TFBA
a. SYC – lack of promotion when did TFBA alone, hoping to
increase awareness of the businesses when collaborating
b. Create poll on Facebook to gain opinions from teens
1.Chamber of Commerce’s FB: City of Saratoga
2.Could potentially combine Saratoga Youth & City of Saratoga
c. Meet with businesses to find if they would like to participate
1.Contact businesses over break to see if they would want to promote a deal
2.Hand out pamphlets to businesses
3. Businesses: Deadline – YCC’s first meeting, 1/7, 5:30 at Chamber of
Commerce (Kaitlin, Sierra, Anu, Mercedes)

1. can ask YCC/ student clubs to stamp the cards
2. Propose to schools in January
a. Set up meeting with principals in January meeting
b. Prizes – maybe could do collaboration with TFBA or other
businesses in Saratoga via YCC

1. School #1: 3/15 – assembly; 3/18 – WOW; 4/5 – prizes,
2. School#2: 4/5 assembly; 4/8 – WOW; 4/22 – prizes

our events once they are underway
