Minutes Meeting

Call to Order 7:07
Roll Call: Annamalai, Baker, Dev, El-Diwany (late), Fariba, Fatemi, Finch, Kausar, Rao, Rateau,
Rees, Rezaii, Tang, Tkalcevic, Tseng, Zhao.
Report on Posting of the Agenda: Pursuant to Government Code Section 54954.2, this meeting
was properly posted on February 5, 2008.
Accept Agenda Items: No additional items may be added pursuant to Government Code Section
54954.2.
Approval of the January minutes. Finch, Kausar
Oral & Written Communication:Any member of the public may address the Commission about
any matter not on the agenda for this meeting for up three minutes. Commissioners may not
comment on the matter, but may choose to place the topic on a future agenda.
I. New Business
a. Saratoga Library –Teen Services (Lisa)
Every month: Calendar of activities, passed out calendar
Ideas for programs or service projects?
Operation Teen Book Drop to support Teen Literature Day
Possibly hold a YC meeting at the library
Teen Advisory Board (Tara)
b. Joint Meeting with Parks and Recreation Commission on March, 10 th
i. 6pm in the Community Center
Plan to go over some of the things we can work together on… possible activities for
teens at the parks (scavenger hunt, after school program, volunteer guide etc.)
c. Joint Council Meeting with City Council
Opportunity to show the City Council what we have done this year
i. April 15 th
ii. Topics? Suggestions? Assign roles

i. February 20 th with at Community Center (this Friday)

c. YC retreat -reassess goals and objectives What is our mission? Motivation?
i. New Date March 7 @ 10:00 am
ii. 2/27 does not work for SHS students (Dance)
d. Film Fest
i. Update on presentations
Sammy made a presentation today at Castilleja, working on Gunn and Paly
Sangita is going to make a presentation on Thursday (2/12)
ii. Film Submission
iii. Remainder of the schedule for Filmfest planning (more films, promotion,
presentations; meet with Chamber & downtown businesses)
Talk to businesses as soon was we start getting films in
Blurb in Saratoga News (2/10), KSAR would like to show some of the films
KCSM 91.1 – Another teen film festival, Need films!
e. E-media
i. Saratogateen.com (updates & feedback) Kayvon will meet with Adam next
week
ii. Facebook –Updates Natalie and Tara have been sending out reminders/new
stuff, Sammy will send out info about the concert
