HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council Resolution 18-055 - amending budget for Fire alarmRESOLUTION NO. 18-055 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SARATOGA AMENDING THE FY 2018/19 ANNUAL OPERATING BUDGET WHEREAS per City Council's Strategic Goals, the City is committed to maintaining City's Facilities and public infrastructure in a safe, sustainable, and cost effective manner, and; WHEREAS, the City's Joan Pisani Community Center is currently undergoing remodeling of the Senior Center section of the building and in the course of the construction work, the Fire Alarm system for the building was determined to be outdated, not functional, and in need of replacement, and; WHEREAS, the fire alarm system for the entire facility must be replaced as a whole unit, and; WHEREAS, the total cost of the new Fire Alarm System is bid at $35,502, and; WHEREAS, the contingency funding for the project to replace the system is $3,550, and; WHEREAS, this unexpected expense was not budgeted in the FY 2018/19 Furniture, Fixtures, and Equipment (FFE) Internal Service Fund replacement budget, and; WHEREAS, the FFE Fund has sufficient fund balance to fund this expenditure should Council approve a budget adjustment resolution to do so: NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Saratoga hereby approves the following budget appropriation to pay the City's share of the Fire Alarm System Retro-Fit/Repair cost to the existing Fire Alarm System, as follows: Account Description Fire Alarm System Budget Account # Increase (Decrease) 633 6203 77269 $39,052 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, the above and foregoing resolution was passed and adopted by the Saratoga City Council at a regular open meeting held on the 17th day of October, 2017, by the following vote: AYES: Mayor Mary -Lynne Bernald, Vice Mayor E.
