ADVISORY COMMITTEE
Minutes

1. Call to Order at 4:00 pm
2. Roll Call: Stallman, Swan, Waltonsmith; City Liaison Borel, Engineer Burkhalter. All
present
3. Report on Posting of the Agenda: Pursuant to Government Code Section 54954.2, the
agenda for this meeting was properly posted on October 11, 2018. So done
4. Accept Agenda Items and Order: No additional items may be added pursuant to
Government Code Section 54954.2. No change
5. Approval of Minutes. Minutes for April 17, 2018 meeting approved
6. Oral and Written Communication: None
Any member of the public may address the Committee about any matter not on the agenda
for this meeting for up to three minutes. Committee Members may not comment on the
matter but may choose to place the topic on a future agenda.
7. Old Business
• Blue Hills Safety Railroad Crossing update – waiting for Judge’s decision to come in
November
• Prospect Road Improvements update - all concrete work completed, landscaping to
start
• Anza Trail Certification update – waiting for completion of interpretive sign, then will
schedule ribbon cutting
• Traffic Safety Projects Updates – speed tables on Allendale, flashing beacons, and
Citywide speed survey
8. Staff Report
• Pending trails update – Questions from members of the West Valley College Park
Development Class were fielded regarding the Saratoga to the Sea Trail.
• Announcements
9. New Business
• Upcoming Projects – Pavement Management started, Pierce Road – sidewalk
easement, park development at Quito/Pollard, walkway from Village to Hakone.
Pierce and Mt. Eden repaving completed; Path segment gaps along Pierce will be
added when properties get permitted work done or change hands; A public meeting
will be held October 22 for the Pollard/Quito Park makeover.
10. Reports (information only, no actions to be taken)
• Members reports - Saratoga to Sea Trail upcoming meeting
11. Action Items Summary
• Find out if bike racks at Prospect/Miller are a part of the Prospect project
• Austin speeding issues
• Oak Street – check on sunken utility boxes
• Hakone driveway entrance still needs CalTrans maintenance
• Connect West Valley students with Parks Department for trail maintenance help
• Staff was requested to look at the lack of a pathway along Quito south of the tracks.
• A request was made to remind Green Valley about paying more attention to not
leaving totes blocking bike lanes on garbage pickup days.
• The railing along the top of wall pathway fronting the Villas at Saratoga may need
repair and painting.

agenda are made available for public review at the office of the City Manager at the time they are
distributed to the Pedestrian, Equestrian and Bicycle Trails Advisory Committee.
