** This Spring, Don't Break for Safety! **
Check out these tips from the City of Saratoga to keep you and your family safe this spring.
1. Turn around, don’t drown if you see flooding. Just 6-inches of moving water can knock over an adult and 2-feet of rushing water can
move most cars.
2. Remember the IRS will never threaten to involve local law enforcement, demand payment without the opportunity to appeal or ask
questions, or require immediate payment over the phone or through unusual methods, like a gift card or wire transfer.
3. As the weather warms, lock and close windows and doors when you leave the house or go to bed.
4. Secure garden tools in a locked garage or shed. Don’t let criminals take advantage of those May flowers!
5. Be a good neighbor. Report suspicious activity to 911.
6. Prepare everywhere. Add an emergency kit to your car that includes a flashlight with operating batteries, first aid supplies, fire
extinguisher, road flares, drinking water, and non-perishable food.
Make the most of this spring by following these tips!
** Weed & Brush Abatement **
The Weed Abatement and Brush Abatement Programs help protect Saratoga from wildfire by promoting defensible space and reducing
potential fuel, like weeds. Properties are inspected annually in the spring for compliance with both the Weed Abatement Program and Brush
Abatement Program.
