Routine Organization A. Roll Call ATTENDED: Marra, Tai, Cappello, Shah, Gomersall, Heid, Conrado GUEST: Craig Ambrose STAFF: Assistant Planner Fossati B. Approval of minutes from December 14, 2010 meeting Heid moved to approve, Tai second. Ayes 7, Noes 0. C. Posting of Agenda – Pursuant to Government Code Section 54954.2, the agenda was posted on January 6, 2011. Agenda properly posted D. Oral & Written Communication - Any member of the public may address the Commission about any matter not on the agenda for this meeting for up to three minutes. Commissioners may not comment on the matter but may choose to place the topic on a future agenda. None E. Oral Communications –Instruction to staff regarding actions on current Oral Communications. HPC directed staff to add the following discussion topics on next months agenda ƒ Further determine HPC duties and “bill of rights” ƒ Business cards for Commissioners ƒ Litter at Corinthian Corners (Starbucks) update 2. Old Business A. HPC Application – Commission discussed. Conrado recommended to change font size and remove question mark on sentence. Cappello recommended to add versions to see differences on subsequent drafts. HPC approved 7 – 0 to have Staff hand out “Heritage Resource Determination” applications to all projects that come before them. B. Historical Grant Application Information – Staff Fossati informed the Commission that even though the grant is budgeted for 2011, the budget requires approval by the County prior to being enacted. Commission directed Staff to keep an eye for grant opportunities. Commissioner Marra discussed state grant opportunities. Staff to send information to HPC members. 3. New Business A. 13966 Saratoga Avenue – Review of a request by Michael Hulme to construct a small addition to the rear of the residence. The residence requires HPC review due to its location on a Heritage Lane (Saratoga Avenue). Commission determined that 13966 Saratoga Avenue is not historic and the addition will not be detrimental to the historic character of Saratoga Avenue. Conrado moved to approve, Heid second. Ayes 7, Noes 0. B. 14683 Oak Street – Review of Mills Act application for 14683 Oak Street (Missionary Settlement House). Commission recommended that City Council approve the Mills Act application for 14683 Oak Street. Tai moved to approve, Cappello second. Ayes 7, Noes, 0. 5. Adjournment Adjourn to 8:30 a.m. Tuesday, February 8, 2011, Warner Hutton House, 13777 Fruitvale Avenue. Meeting adjourned with Conrado excused absence for 2/8/10 meeting.
