HERITAGE PRESERVATION
COMMISSION
MINUTES
Date: Tuesday, November 9, 2004 8:30 a.m.
Place: Warner Hutton House, 13777 Fruitvale Avenue
Type: Regular Meeting Please meet in the parking lot in front of the Warner
Hutton House at 8:30 a.m. and Staff will provide transportation to the site visit
under New Business item “B”and return to City Hall by 9:15am
I. Routine Organization 9:15 a.m.
A. Roll Call –PRESENT: Bailey, Conrado, Lowdermilk, Wyman, Louden, Absent:
Dodge, Ballingall
B. Approval of minutes fro m 10/12/04 – Approved 50
C. Posting of Agenda – Pursuant to Government Code Section 54954.2, the agenda
was posted on Thursday November 4, 2004
D. Oral & Written Communicat ion Any member of the public may address the
Commissio n about any matter not on the agenda for this meet ing for up to three minutes.
Commissioners may not comment on the matter but may choose to place the topic on a
future agenda. –Discussed letter fro m Assistant Cit y Manager concerning Commissio ns
invo lvement in events.
II. Old Business
A. Update on County Grant for McWilliams House renovations. – Item Discussed
B. Update on Work Plan assignments. – Item Discussed
C. Update on training on DPR forms. – Working on final draft for Cit y properties
D. Mustard Walk. – Will be held February 13, 2005
III. New Business
A. Placing brass plaques on historic houses – The HPC wants to standardize the design
B. Review proposed addit ion and major remodel to a home over 50 years old at 14482
Oak Place. 8:30 a.m. – Approved 50 with condit ion that no aluminum windows will be
used.
IV. Items to be placed on the next Agenda
A. A site visit to the Historic Adobe House on Chester for considerat ion for Land Mark
Status has been tentatively scheduled with the owner for the December HPC meeting.
V. Pending Items
A. Review list of properties with structures 50 years and over in age
B. Retreat
C. Historic Calendar – Item Discussed
D. Adopt a Tree Program for the Heritage Orchard
E. Historic Preservation Data Base
F. Update Heritage Ordinance
G. Take Historic Park Master Plan to Council
