Minutes from the Regular Planning Commission Meeting of June 10, 2009
ORAL COMMUNICATION
Any member of the Public will be allowed to address the Planning Commission for up to three minutes on matters not
on this agenda. The law generally prohibits the Planning Commission from discussing or taking action on such items.
However, the Planning Commission may instruct staff accordingly regarding Oral Communications under Planning
Commission direction to Staff.

Pursuant to Government Code 54954.2, the agenda for this meeting was properly posted on June 18, 2009
REPORT OF APPEAL RIGHTS
If you wish to appeal any decision on this Agenda, you may file an “Appeal Application” with the City Clerk
within fifteen (15) calendar days of the date of the decision, pursuant to Municipal Code 15-90.050 (b).
All interested persons may appear and be heard at the above time and place. Applicants/Appellants and
their representatives have a total of ten minutes maximum for opening statements. Members of the Public
may comment on any item for up to three minutes. Applicant/Appellants and their representatives have a
total of five minutes maximum for closing statements.
PUBLIC HEARING
1. APPLICATION SUB 09-0001 (510-01-016) Khouja, 15211 Hume Drive - The applicant requests
approval to subdivide an approximately 51,131 square foot parcel located at 15211 Hume Drive into two
lots. “Parcel A” would be approximately 26,951 square feet with street frontage on Hume Drive. “Parcel B”
would be approximately 24,180 gross square feet (21,001 net) with access via a 20 foot wide corridor
fronting Hume Drive. The property is zoned R-1-20,000 with a General Plan designation of Low Density
Residential (RLD). (Cynthia McCormick)
2. APPLICATION CUP09-0006 & FER 09-0003 (397-08-027) Kriens, 18940 Monte Vista Drive - The
applicant requests Conditional Use Permit approval for the installation of a generator to provide emergency
power supply. The applicant is also requesting Design Review approval for a fence exception to allow a
fence, less than 6 feet in height, within the front yard setback. The lot is approximately 1.4 acres in size and
is located in the R-1-40,000 zoning district. (Cynthia McCormick)
3. APPLICATION PDR 08-0031 (397-23-045) Barringer, 14310 Saratoga Ave - The applicant requests
Design Review approval to add an 874 square foot second-story addition to a single-family dwelling. The
project would also replace an existing one-car attached garage with a two-car detached garage at the rear of
the property. The total proposed floor area is 2,787 square-feet and the maximum height is 26 feet. The
applicant would remove three (3) existing trees and replace them with new trees, equivalent in value. The
lot is approximately 7,100 square feet and the site is zoned R-1-10,000. (Cynthia McCormick)
