Report on Posting of the Agenda: Pursuant to Government Code Section 54954.2, this m eeting was properly post ed on December 6, 2019. Accept Agenda Items : No additional items may be added pursuant to Government Code Section 54954.2. Approval of November 26th minutes Liu motioned to approve the November 26th minutes, Madhan seconded the motion. AYES: Chittharanjan, Koneru, Liu, Madhan, Peer, Pyun, Raamkumar, Rammohan, Wang. NOES: none. ABSTAIN: none. Oral & Written Communication: Any member of the public may address the Commission about any matter not on th e agenda for this meeting for up to three minutes. Commissioners may not comment on the matter but may choose to place the topic on a future agenda. I. Tree Lighting Recap a. What went well? A lot of attendance. b. Anything we can improve on? More hot water and marshmallows. This was the first year we ran out of hot water. Be more efficient with the line and in the future we should be more clear that the hot chocolate is free. II. Celebration of Light a. Saturday, December 14th Pyun, Rammohan, Koneru, Liu, Peer, Raamkumar. b. Arrive at 5:00pm c. Blaney Plaza Add more water, about 100 mini candy canes, marshmallows, and hot chocolate. III. Walk One Week a. W.O.W. video i. Select date & location Madhan, Koneru, Raamkumar, Chittharanjan, Wang. January 20th from 10:00am – 11:30am. Meet at the Warner Hutton House. ii. Script and organizers b. Updates? Potentially use stamps instead of stickers if it is not in a rainy season. IV. Collaborations a. Parks & Recreation Commission – Madhan & Chittharanjan i. Commission recommendations for meeting on January 13, 2020. b. Saratoga Library Teen Advisory Board – Koneru & Rammohan -March 28 from 1:00pm – 4:00pm in the Community Room at the Saratoga Library. -Theme: like-minded individuals talking about real life experiences. -Have speakers of all ages. -Ask speakers for quick overview or a proposal of their topics. -Include activities that will engage the audience. (Expand from local speakers?) -Have multiple sessions, include activities and discussions that will engage the same audience. V. Fundraising a. Boba event i. May 9th Ideas for structure of event: - Flat fundraiser at Bubble Tea Time or other location. - Tasting event with around $10-$15 admission where you can try different boba flavors. - Blind boba tasting competition structure. - Commissioners will reach out to local/popular boba tea places and research pricing. VI. Budget Update – Madhan Obtained a lot of donations from Tree Lighting. VII. Color Dash 2020 a. Sunday, April 5, 2020 April 4, 2020 is Color Dash Prep. b. Subcommittees - Registrations and Volunteering (Michelle, Nithya, Nivi) - Donations and Food (Safia, Carolyn W., Nicita, Carolyn P.) - Marketing (Pranav, Varsha, Alex) c. Race Shirt VIII. ArtExtravaganza a. Saturday, April 25, 2020 Collaboration possibilities? b. Event structure Include food trucks?, have a stage, booths, bring students from high schools, open to all forms of art (dance, music, painting, sculpting, etc.) IX. Movie Night a. Select top choices for June 2020 Frozen 2 or Aladdin b. Pre-movie activities X.
