To be able to radar enforce speed limits on streets, other than those designated as local streets. Speed Data Collision Data Residential Density Other Factors City of Saratoga 2020 Speed Survey What is the 85th Percentile Speed? Speed at or below which 85% of vehicles are traveling City of Saratoga 2020 Speed Survey Evaluating 85th Percentile Speed. Collect Speed Data (85%-ile speeds) Round Up to Nearest 5 mph Can reduce by 5 mph without further justification Round Down to Nearest 5 mph Can reduce by 5 mph based on certain factors City of Saratoga 2020 Speed SurveyStudy Segments City of Saratoga 2020 Speed SurveyCurrent Speed Limits City of Saratoga 2020 Speed SurveyObserved Speeds City of Saratoga 2020 Speed SurveyObserved Speeds City of Saratoga 2020 Speed Survey General Findings Speeds have increased on 29 of 44 roadway segments (65%) since 2013. Speeds have decreased on 15 of 44 roadway segments (35%) since 2013. All but one of the roadway segments are recommended to maintain the current speed limit.
