Site Visit(s) a. None 2. Call to Order: Chair Shah called the meeting to order at 8:30 AM 3. Roll Call- Present: Chair Rina Shah, Vice Chair Annette Stransky, Priya Shastri and Marie Lopresto Staff: Nicole Johnson, Senior Planner, Christian Fusco, Arborist 4. Oral Communications: None 5. Approval of the April 13, 2021 minutes SHAH/STRANSKY MOVED TO APPROVE THE MINUTES FOR THE APRIL 13, 2021 MEETING. MOTION PASSED. AYES: SHAH, SHASTRI, STRANSKY, LOPRESTO. NOES: NONE. ABSTAIN: NONE. ABSENT: NONE 6. New Business a. 20715 Reid Lane-Heritage Tree Application: STRANSKY/LOPRESTO MOVED TO RECOMMEND APPROVAL TO THE CITY COUNCIL TO DESIGNATE THE TREE AT 20715 REID LANE AS A HERITAGE TREE. MOTION PASSED. AYES: SHAH, SHASTRI, STRANSKY, LOPRESTO. NOES: NONE. ABSTAIN: NONE. ABSENT: NONE b. Heritage Preservation Ordinance update: Nicole Johnson gave an overview of the changes to the City Code regarding Heritage Preservation based on the direction from City Council. The HPC discussed that this item needed additional review by the commission and will continue item to the June HPC meeting. The commissioners decided to conduct research and compile as a report to the City Council. Page 2 of 2 c. Heritage Resource Inventory Process: SHAH/STRANSKY. MOVED TO MOVE ITEM 6c BEFORE ITEMS 6 a AND b. MOTION PASSED. AYES: SHAH, STRANSKY, SHASTRI, LOPRESTO. NOES: NONE. ABSTAIN: NONE. ABSENT: NONE. Chair Shah and Commissioner Stransky gave a presentation of why preservation is important and the process of adding items to the Heritage Resource Innovatory. 7. Staff Comments: None 8. Old Business: a. National Preservation Month Nicole Johnson gave an overview of how the City has publicized National Preservation Month and advertising of events on social media. b. Project Status Update: The HPC discussed their projects on the worksheet. 9. Commission Items: • Commissioner Lopresto stated that Sharon Bender is interested in joining the HPC and has submitted her application. • Chair Shah asked that the preservation recording be posted and shared ASAP. 10.
