RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SARATOGA TO
CREATE THE CITYWIDE BIKEWAYS AND SIDEWALK MASTER PLAN
PROJECT AS A NEW CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROJECT (CIP) AND ADJUST
THE FISCAL YEAR 2023-24 CIP BUDGET TO RECORD THE GRANT AND
LOCAL MATCH FUNDS
WHEREAS, City staff submitted an application in July 2022 for One Bay Area Grant
(OBAG) to fund a project to create a master plan for bikeways and sidewalks in the City of
Saratoga, and
WHEREAS, the project will identify and prioritize locations for new bikeways,
sidewalks, and opportunities for gap closure, citywide, and
WHEREAS, this application was recently approved in a grant amount of $443,000 with
a required City local match share of $57,000, and
WHEREAS, funding for the required local match is available in the Pavement
Management Program capital project, and
WHEREAS, it is therefore necessary to adjust the Fiscal Year 2023-24 CIP budget.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Saratoga
hereby authorizes City staff to:
1. Create a new CIP project for Citywide Bikeways and Sidewalk Master Plan with
expenditure budget of $500,000 of which $443,000 is sourced from the OBAG
grant and $57,000 is sourced from the City's CIP funds
2. Transfer $57,000 from the Pavement Management Program project to the new
Citywide Bikeways and Sidewalk Master Plan project.

The above and foregoing resolution was passed and adopted at a regular meeting of the Saratoga
City Council held on the 191h day of July 2021 by the following vote:
AYES: COUNCIL MEMBERS AFTAB, PAGE, WALIA, VICE MAYOR ZHAO,
MAYOR FITZSIMMONS
NOES: NONE
ABSENT: NONE
ABSTAIN: NONE
