REGULAR MEETING Teleconference/Public Participation Information to Mitigate the Spread of COVID-19 This meeting will be entirely by teleconference. All Commission members, staff, and public will only participate via the Zoom platform using the process described below. The meeting is being conducted in compliance with the Governor’s Executive Order N‐29‐20 suspending certain teleconference rules required by the Ralph M. Brown Act. The purpose of this order was to provide the safest environment for the public, elected officials, and staff while allowing for continued operation of the government and public participation during the COVID‐19 pandemic. This meeting can be accessed by: 1. Using the Zoom website https://us02web.zoom.us/j/89930071155 or App (Webinar ID 899 3007 1155) and using the tool to raise their hand in the Zoom platform when directed by the Chair to speak on an agenda item; OR 2. Calling 1.408.638.0968 or 1.669.900.6833, enter the Webinar ID 899 3007 1155, and pressing *9 to raise their hand to speak on an agenda item when directed by the Chair. The public will not be able to participate in the meeting in person. As always, members of the public can send written comments to the Commission prior to the meeting by commenting online at www.saratoga.ca.us/yc prior to the start of the meeting. These emails will be provided to the members of the Commission and will become part of the official record of the meeting. During the meeting the Chair will explain the process for members of the public to be recognized to offer public comment. ROLL CALL REPORT ON POSTING OF THE AGENDA The agenda for this meeting was properly posted on September 23, 2022. ORAL COMMUNICATIONS ON NON-AGENDIZED ITEMS Any member of the public may address the Youth Commission for up to three (3) minutes on matters not on the Agenda. The law generally prohibits the Youth Commission from discussing or taking action on such items. However, the Youth Commission can schedule the item for discussion at a future meeting. AGENDA ITEMS: 1. Youth Commission Minutes Recommended Action: Review and approve the draft minutes from the September 6, 2022 meeting. Draft Minutes 2. Special Presentation Recommended Action: Receive presentation from Santa Clara County Public Health Department staff on the Children’s Outdoor Bill of Rights. Presentation Slides 3. Work Plan 2022-2023 Recommended Action: Discuss tentative dates for scheduling 2022-2023 Youth Commission work plan items that was approved by the City Council on September 21, 2022. State of the City Recommended Action: Receive verbal report from staff about Youth Commission roles and expectations for the State of the City event. Flyer 5. Pizza & Politics Recommended Action: Receive verbal report from the chair and vice chair about Youth Commission expectations for Pizza and Politics and select Commissioners to fill various roles. Flyer 6. Youth Commission Meeting Schedule Recommended Action: Review the 2022-2023 Youth Commission Regular Meeting schedule and consider re-scheduling the December meeting. 7. Marketing Chair Report Recommended Action: Receive verbal report from the Marketing Chair about upcoming work plan items and any updates on the marketing plan. 8. City Report Recommended Action: Receive verbal report from staff of any current or upcoming City efforts pertaining to the Youth Commission. 9. Future Agenda Items Recommended Action: Review the agenda planner and consider agenda items for upcoming meetings. The next Regular Youth Commission meeting is scheduled for October 25, 2022.
